Translation:
Sex=well I guess that word is universal
bier=Beer
um=no translation

Maybe because they only wanted sex and beer and couldn't think of anything else so they just said um...

Yeah, that must be it! They named the place after the things they liked.
They were thinking, well we like sex, we like beer and what else do we like...uhm uhm.

The mystery is finally solved by Dell! :goodjob: :king:

P.S. Wanna know what del means in Dutch?

Also, there is no place in Canada called "Moose Factory" unless it's a very detailed map including a moose nursery, or the name of a store ;) . I think you're thinking of Moose Jaw?

There is a place in Canada called Moose Factory - it's a coastal city near Moosonee, in Ontario I think.

This thread is great. I want to mention a funny thing about the Norwegian Christian Democrats who held their national conference a few years back at Hell!:lol: :lol:

South France, not far where I used to live, i.e. Toulouse (pronounce "to loose"), is a small city called "Condom". Yep.
Another large city, famous for its rugby club is Castres. And guess how we call their inhabitants? ;) (no, not Castrated :D)
Some other small villages:
_ Saixe

Btw, French people have always been shocked by the Sussex state, in UK, because "suce" in French = lick :D

Big Bone Lick State Park in Kentucky, US.

Licking County Ohio, US <--I actually live here.

Surprised no one got Lahore-La Whore(French and English);)

Well in India there is Asansol, but Bengali pronunciation turns it into Ass-on-soul:D

Dutch city of Sneek. Pronounced in English it indeed sounds like sneak. In Dutch however it sounds like snake!

Outside Moscow, in Russia, there is a village called "Vozhd' Proletariata", which translates to "Leader of the proletariat"! :lol: However the authorities are thinking of renaming the village...

Also there is a town in central Russia called "Khrenovoye", which in slang amounts to something similar to "f***ing" (maybe not quite that rude) ! :D

In Norway we have a town called Hell.... When there was a NATO exercise around the town all english-speaking soldiers rushed to send home "postcards stamped in Hell" .... :D
