    Just to let everyone in on a progress update, we are steaming along, the tech tree is filling up with all kinds of lovelly units, and promotions are currently getting a major overhaul!

    It is starting to get exciting and we are cruising on towards our Alpha Release Goal :D

    I cannot believe how far the game has developed in the last month, it is great to finally have a team to work with! All I really need to kick it into overdrive is some art guys and a python guy (I hate python so much! It never wants to work with me on anything!)

    Hehe is it in mod comps or do you have a link?

    My dll work is stuck until I can figure out how to finish the bonus commerce building mod, so for now I am working on designing the civics. Diplomacy sounds like a lot of ai I hate merging ai with kmod its hard!

    I just had a look, it looks pretty cool but sounds complicated :D I don't think diplomacy would add that much to my mod, as wasteland diplomacy is usually conducted with the barrel of a shot gun!

    Hi, this mod looks great! I have no idea how far along you are, but I would like to offer my help. All my attempts to actually modify files have been unsuccessful, but I am familiar with what the effects of certain civics should be, especially the ones involving economics. If you would like my input, just let me know.

    Help is always welcome, feel free to post your ideas here, and if you want to.get more involved with the mod, we are always looking for XML helpers and play testers!

    I.have just started to design the new civics, so you timed it well!

    Awesome! I just have a few questions about the general layout of the civics. After that, I can help with what civics I think there should be and what their effects are.
    1: Are you going to stay within the general area of the original civic trees (government, legal, economy, labor, religion), or will you make different and/or more categories? IMO there should be more, such as military, what society emphasizes (efficiency, military tradition, things like that), etc.
    2: Approximately how many civics will there be per civic category?
    3: Approximately how advanced will societies become. I know they will start out with a scavenger/survival situation, but will they reach or even surpass the economic, legal, etc. systems we have today?
    4: How complex do you want civic effects to be? Mods like RoMK have civics with a lot of effects, while in the original game civics were more contained. Personally I prefer the complex, RoMK version, because the civics you choose have much more of a significant impact on your civilization.

    I would also love to play test the mod.

    cool, pm an email address and I will send you a link to our dropbox, so you can copy out the latest version of the mod for playtesting and I will get dotter to add you to the dev group here, then you will see the latest plans for civics and what they are capable of.

    Yes they will be more complex than the BTS standard, I have been able to merge a lot of cool features such as modifying specialists, and prereq civics for units and buildings, including combo prereqs. we will only have 25 5 civics like normal BTS though as adding more is too difficult.

    I will talk more details in the dev group with you.

    You may not be able to send pms yet because you are so new, we cannot add you to the group yet either.

    If you click on my underlined name above my pic, an option box will open, and one of those says 'send 'X' a private message' If that doesn't work, then we can chat here, but we will try and keep things private to keep the masses in suspense :D

    Ah yes I thought it might be something like that :)

    We are chipping away at the alpha release, someone has just come on bored who has volunteered to build some custom xml eidtors for us, which will help to speed up all the work, and he will then use that to do all of the values for the new buildings we have added.

    I have just started designing the civics, and other than that I think the last thing to do before the alpha goes public is changing the random events...

    from there is will be Bug fixing the release and expansion of the Faction Specific Content.

    So people can vote for their favourite faction from the OP to be the first to get the complete overhaul :)

    The Alpha will have a small amount of Faction Specific Content, but only enough to make the game mechanics work.

    So far I have the categories and civics they contain. I'm working on the effects and I should have them done later today.
