I was hoping to see a bug list/fix thread... no? Okay. Here are some items.

1. When I first started it and hit control TAB to shut some other program down, it froze and I had to force quit and restart.

2. When I started playing, I selected DirectX 9 because someone suggested this would run more smoothly. However, with DirectX 9, I could not see leader screens. I would just see the map and hear them talking... no screen. I restarted and set it to DirectX 10, and the leader screens work again.

3. SLOW! Before, when I was on old Civ running DirectX 9, it was pretty snappy. Now it's slow. It is especially slow when I click on a leader. It takes a good 10-40 seconds for a leader screen to open. I hear the music... and then just sit there waiting... then... finally... someone shows up. Anyone else get this?

4. No Great General Golden Age?! not a bug... but sucks. Now I have two GGs... what do I want that for?

5. One of my neighbors (Big S) has about 5 pearls... but when I go to trade with him, it shows no surplus at all. I have tried this multiple times with multiple leaders, but they only seem to have one of everything. I can't imagine he is so efficient in trading that I just can't seem to time it right? But maybe.

6. Still not much improvement with combat.

7. Not a bug... but a bad design... both the spy menu and the religious menu are confusing. I want a spy that I can move from place to place to see what he/she is seeing. Then when he/she gets to a city, I want to be able to have him/her do something. I don't really understand how to make my spies do things. Weak. Weak implementation of a major advancement.

On the plus side, I'm having a lot of fun. I like the slower pace. I like combat more with 100 point battles... although slower, it's more interesting. I love having religion again. Just one more thing that adds a depth of interest to the game... is there no religious victory? I didn't see it on the option screen, but maybe I'm blind.

Okay... that's my take after 200 turns or so. Fun. Slow.

Unfortunately, the only thing your spies can do is Steal Technology (when in a city of a major civ) or gain you influence (when in a city-state). Disappointing array of choices when compared to BTS.

Everything is fine as I can tell, except the fact I have zero leader animations, its kind of awkward them saying all that stuff and not moving. I was really confused when I got a spy and I had no clue that it wasn't an actual unit.

I run the Dx10/11 version - haven't noticed any graphical issues and the game feels crisper graphically and maybe slightly smoother than before. Could just be my imagination. But no glitches with leaders or anything for sure.

I haven't got to espionage yet but I'd be happy if it was fluffy since I don't want that to be a big part of the game anyways. I've yet to like an espionage implimentation in civ and always disable it when possible.

I think the only great that can start GA now is artist. Citadel has some changes (it's somewhat like culture bomb now) but yeah, I imagine when I'm war mongering I'll have generals all over doing nothing. Kinda wish you could use them to xp bomb a unit, build a barracks, or something.

i noticed that it's a lot harder to make peace with someone after war as been declared. I played a game when an Attla DoW'd me and never moved in, but never wanted peace. We were at war for a good 100 turns before I got bored with that.

Also I had a wheat resource on a desert tile. Almost required a granary to make that tile worth anything, pretty sure i've never seen wheat on a desert tile so that must be a bug. (Tile gave 1 Food, 2 with farm)

Pace is much better but maintenance is KILLING me.

Random crashes - not running any mods.

I was under the impression espionage "let me do something"? worst espionage system imaginable.

Another option for the GG is to make them give experience to units. I liked that feature in the old Civs. You can turn one of your current units into a GG and make them big bad veterans. Or if they could instant heal a couple units or something.

Oh, and I got a 2nd Great Prophet, but he couldn't enhance my religion... or I couldn't find that option. The first one I got founded my religion... but after that... nothing. Anyone know why? Is there a secret enhance button somewhere?

the enhance button should be 2nd on the skills of the GP

Seen those loads of times in Vanilla.

Have noticed one bug... faith progression is unaffected by gamespeed. The FaithPercent setting in GameSpeeds.xml appears to do nothing.

And after 267 turns... no Oil on the entire map? Really?!

Took a screenshot (Steam's screenshot feature, bound to F12), and the game crashed because of a runtime error. Wish I had saved earlier. Worked just fine pre-GAK.

Playing my first game of G&K I was excited to discover that I had just earned my first Great Admiral.

So, I went to my capital to look for him and discovered to my annoyance that rather than appearing in the ocean he had appeared in the large land locked sea near my capital.

Not what I wanted to see.

It would be good if the code could understand the difference between a land-locked sea and the open seas in circumstances like this.

Won my first game. Took all day. Fun, but... ending is still meh. Meh. What happens when you press replay? It took me back to the main menu.

Seemed easier than Vanilla, but maybe I'm just better at the game? Lots of salt. Salt is so overpowered... so much salt. Happiness and amazing tiles.
