Standard Hall of Fame rules (*) still apply, but any games meeting the settings will be counted towards the Gauntlet.

Hmmmm .... a Prince G-Major :hmm: This I might just play :)

Prince, quick, map type any? EASY!!

Looks like Great Plains to me.... I see horses too...

domination, huge --> fine with me
prince --> no more worker stealing within the early years
quick --> what the hell??? I won't get a decent score with this... oh well, this is g-major

yes. I hope the Prince difficulty will make up for it.

That was my thought too but I don't know that I have ever tried a quick prince so I couldn't speak from experience.

I'm going to try with one of the Ottoman's first I think. I can't see chariots lasting for that long on a huge map at quick speed.

Justian or suleiman or julius or as cabert say hatty, might be good for this... Hard to say without trying though...

I dunno how dom limits works, but terra / big and small / innland sea / boreal might all be better...

Darn. I am missing all the great gauntlets while traveling.

tried as justian, started with stone on a plains hill in bfc so went there, on turn 16 i attacked roosvelt, my 4 warriors against his two. I lost due to bad rng though so it ended up being not so good. What is special is that if i had managed it on that start i would have gotten my first city as a monster production city(i popped masonery from a hut so i guess i would build henge then mids there at least) and the second one with corn + double gold + banana + cows(aka insane burrecracy capital or whatever)... Sad to lose such an insane opportunity to bad rng...

Pretty much all games worth playing are going to start with two cities. And the winning ones are going to be those with two good cities, if you know how hard it is to regenerate into one good city, try regenerate into two :p

You might be able to take 2-3 capitals even if the opponents are close enough. I am starting to think shaka or ragnar or kublai might be good alternatives(too bad they start with a scout...). Hammurabi might be another option going mp style agro on the world. Two decent traits, and a nice UU..

Maybe Cho-Ku-Nus? Or Hwachas?

Nothing lasts long enough on quick :p. I was thinking warrior rush then keshiks but maybe not. You blink and they go from not having replaceable parts to having rifles. Hmm.

quick is very frustrating. can only take down 1 civ with my immortals. beaten with pyramids because I am still waiting for my troops to capture the city that will build the wonder (ran out of forests for the immortal rush).

abandoned the game since it's already 10 AD and my cities aren't mature enough that I can pick which ones will be the GP farm and the production powerhouse. nevertheless, the wars are piece of cake and the A.I. techs slow. It's just that I have to be very very careful with my moves since every turn in quick is worth 4 turns on marathon!

I'm gonna try Rome now. The Praet can also wage a winning war during the ancient era like the immortals and the war chariots but unlike the latter two, it will not go obsolete until medieval.

strategy strategy strategy...
