G-Major 6/7

Yep, use MapFinder. It rules!

How is this for a start? Settle in place and Ragnor can't move, he starts with 2 scouts but NO military, so free worker on 5th turn :)

I had this happen once, but it was on Deity so I couldn't really do anything to his stack and when my culture transplated him he built without moving, 3 spaces away from my capitol. :(

Alraun, Dianthus :D :thumb:
Well, Martin promises Dance with Dragons finished till end of year ;)

1853 Spaceship win as Huayna Capac on Warlords. Likely not good enough, and this date can be beaten easily, especially by Vanilla players who can pick Mansa/Gandhi to be teching partners.

Room for improvement:
1. Befriending Hannibal/Rameses instead of Ragnar/Churchill.
2. Settling 1-2 more cities.
3. Building Pyramids.
4. Getting Academy in addition to religions.
5. Liberalism to get Democracy for free then build Statue of Liberty

Popped Masonry from a hut, founded 4 religions. Judaism adpoted and spread to potential allies. Wonders built include Henge, Oracle (got Metal Casting), Hanging Gardens, GLibrary, Spiral Minaret, Sankore, Broadway, Eiffel, Rock&Roll, 3Gorges, Elevator.

Kept giving away tech lead to keep game in world war, resulting on AI pounding on Augustus, Wang, Mehmed and Brennus until dead, allowing me to build minimal military. Captured 2 cities of August and later 2 cities of Mehmed.

(Also domestic advisor got buggy at some point in the game, preventing me from using it for this game only.)

Don't sweat the Vanilla users too much, these are simultaneous yet distinct Gauntlets. The #1 Warlords submission will be a #1 Gauntlet winner, regardless of whether or not Vanilla submissions were faster.

Yup.
Yep.
I wonder whether this is long enough to be submitted.

Now it is. Say, while we're on this map, what mountain and water settings (the other players that is) would you recommend?

Well, I just submitted 1853 AD on Vanilla. ;)

I also see vast room for improvement. My timing at the end was horrible... I started building workshops over cottages too soon. At the end, several of my production cities were building research.

However, it was kind of fun to play without the pressure of higher levels. I think I'll be having another go. :)

1746 for Warlords. Dunno if I'll do Vanilla.

Using Elizabeth, I ended up conquering one other civ, Churchill, so I had all the English cities! :D

Alraun 1746 seems to be avery good date. Would you please elleborate your strategy.

Uhm... don't waste time researching techs the AIs will get for you and build lots of academies?

Lots? That's... how many Academies? 2-3? I usually only build 1, guess I should fix that for space races...

No, like 7+. Using Elizabeth I'll generally get my first GP from The Oracle, then I'll build the Great Library and make two science specialists in the GL's city and start cranking out the Great Scientists. Those are usually the only two wonders I build until Nationalism+ In my G-Minor 11 game, 9 of my cities had one.

THAT MANY?

I see. I'm so used to military or diplomatic (frontdoor or backdoor) victories ASAP so I am quite fond of lightbulbing techs.

Another thing you could do is save a 4000BC of a game that is set up how you like. When you want a new map just load that 4000BC and regenerate. The HOF mod has a change in it which means that this regeneration will create a new map each time.

Wow! That's nice! It should be written somewhere in the MapFinder explanations, so that it was widely known.

I did this for the Vanilla major game I'm about to submit. I got a totally evil Highlands map with no trees on the entire map (forests OR jungle) and lacks resource variety. :mischief:

I'll submit the game maybe later when I get home and press Enter for the last 50-60 times...
