Game crash please help

my game crashes when I try to select certain civs, I think all in the Greek/Roman chain. This occurs in the starting screen where you pick your civ. Also if I just avoid them when they try and talk to me during the game it also freezes. This is particularly frustrating because I cant play any of the early conquests. It may be because I downloaded several game mods and stuff, I know little about computers so I'm not sure what to do. Please help me if you can.

P.S. on a unrelated note do you ever get attacked by civs that aren't on your continent/island. For example I just play the wwii scenerio as the Japenese and the americans never even tried to attack me except for some minor bombing and ship attacks. This was on demigod. I also never get attacked in the real game either if i'm on a different land then my enemy

Again all help or ideas are creatly appreciated I really want to play these scenarios

My game disc doesn't work anymore there is a huge scratch in it any way to go around reinstall or would i just have to buy it again

scratch: I'm no expert on this but I've seen that you have patiently waited here for a reply. I know of no other way than to buy a new copy. Or check your manual for ways to reach technical support.

attack: happens from time to time if my military isn't strong enough.

You could ask a moderator to move this to Civ3 - Technical Support.

As the post deals with two questions, I'll leave it here for the time being.

As for your scratched disc, you could try this or a simular product. I don't know how well it will work. But buying a new disc off of ebay might not be that much more expensive. Depends on what you need, tho.
