Just ran through it with Steph's editor and found a few units which could cause problems, in two rough groups. I don't know if any of these are what are causing your problem right now, though.
Group A
This group consists of offensive/defensive land units with the IMMOBILE flag, which can load onto ships. This causes the game to hang if the AI tries to disembark these units from a ship onto a land tile.
To Fix - Give it a Transport Capacity of 1 or more. Give it all three of the "Transports only Foot Units", "Transports Only Air Units" and "Transports only Tactical Missiles" flags (this will mean that it can't load onto transports and no other unit can actually load onto it)
- Orthanc Fortification - IMMOBILE defense unit.
- Dwarven Tower - same as above
- Elven Tower - same as above
- Watch Tower - same as above
- Guard Tower - same as above
- Orc Tower - same as above
- Fortress Tower - same as above
- Citadel Tower - same as above
- Mine Tower - same as above
- Dwarven Lone Tower - IMMOBILE offense unit. Same as above.

Group B
This group consists of offensive/defensive land units without an AI strategy. This could cause a problem (either the game to hang or a crash to desktop) if you or the AI found a city and it cannot build any other land military units.
To Fix - give it the Offense or Defense AI Strategy flag as required.
- Guldur Necromancer - no AI strategy, if this is the only unit available for Dol Guldur to build in a city this may cause a crash.
- Giant Squid* - same as above.
- Umbar Greatsword - same as above, albeit this is unlikely the cause of your problems since it requires resources.
- Skin Changer Elemental - same as above, albeit this is unlikely the cause of your problems since it requires resources.
*(also of note, this unit is set to land though by the name and tech it appears to be a sea unit?)
