Game gets extremely slow in late industrial age

Hi all,

With the editor I replaced the Babylonian civilisation with the Dutch, I switched colors with English, because I wanted the Dutch to be orange and I also changed the Civilopedia with an entry about the dutch.
Everything seems to be working working, I'm playing on Regent level and all is going well... I'm now around 1790 AC in my game and all civilisations in the game (germans, english, russians, frenchs and americans) are in the late industrial timezone...
Now the problem started, when the turn ends and I hit space bar the computer seems to do nothing at all... it takes a very long time before the AI is finally making its moves and then when it's switching back to me the same thing happens again..it's taking a very long time before I can finally make my moves... the harddisk is not loading at all during that time, and in the games I played before without the modification (my first game as chieftain, then 2nd game as warlord) I didn't have this problem.
I quitted the game and changed back to the original files I had backed up and loaded the game again, but it didnt help.
I'm not sure whether this problem occurs because of my modification or that it's something else....
My PC is powerful enough, I have an AMD Athlon 700 with 576MB memory and a TNT2 32MB gfx card, so that's not the problem ;-).

I've posted the modification in the completed modpacks forum, I hope someone can answer me...
tomorrow I start a new game, because I edited the files during this game, and maybe that's the reason... but I'm not sure what is causing this... it takes like 5 to 6 minutes before I can finally make a move again, that's not normal.

Looks like your configuration beats mine by about 2 to 5 minutes, not to bad compared to mine.;)

My PC is a PII-333 with 192MB memory and have 2.5MB video memory.

The timess I got are as follows:

First turn: about 10 minutes until I could change production, then another minute to be able to activate units, etc...works well until I complete my turn, then I have to wait again.

Second turn: 8 minutes until I could change production, then another minute to be able to activate units, etc...

Looks normal to me (for this game)...
 
Got a quesetion for you.. were you playing as the Dutch or was the computer?

If the computer was playing the dutch, perhaps something you set in the AI boxes in the pannel is giving the computer grief. Try playing against a computer whos AI is set to never build settlers/never build workers, for example, and you'll see what I mean!
 
I was playing the Dutch...didn't make the mod not to use it hehe
:) All other AI players have been untouched... also I didn't change the AI settings of the Dutch, just changed the names and characteristics.
I made the first version of the mod with the hacked editor... I made it all over with the regular editor and in the game i'm playing atm all seems fine so far... but I'm not as far in the game yet as where the problems started earlier...

I've never had a problem with the hacked editor. I've even added and deleted Eras without any problems in gameplay. The only time I've had errors were with mistakes I could have made with a non-hacked editor.
