Yo,

When I launch Civ4, it will go through all the "Init" until "Init MP/Voice", where it crashes and my computer will reboot. I've got both the patches, so I don't know what is causing the problem.

Comp Specs:
XP Home SP2
Pentium IV 3.0 GHz
1022 MB RAM
Direct X 9.0c
GeForce 6600 GT 128 MB
SigmaTel Audio

Thanks.

The computer still reboots at 'MP/Voice'

Noob question: how do I get dxdiag to become an attachment?

Start Button - click - select run - type dxdiag - press enter - wait a min - select "save all information" - then post the file using the 'go advanced' button below

Regards
Zy

Try updating your sound card drivers.

Secondly, you might want to turn-off the rebooting when it crashes - so that you can get an error message to help diagnose the problem, rather than just rebooting.

In the control panel, choose "System" then click on the "advanced" tab. Click the "startup and recovery" button. On the next screen, make sure the "automatically reboot" option is unchecked.

If it crashes, you should then get a blue screen of death, however it might tell you what's actually causing the crash!

The only file that comes up is "sfng32.sys".

I did search on it, and the file has something to do with my soundcard.

"DSP Service driver for SigmaTel(R) 922X, 28 March 2005 build"
