Game save.

Previous turn chat thread.

Next game play instruction thread.

This will be an on-line game play session. :)

Trajan completed the building of our Forbidden Palace circa 430 AD. Our glorious Legions returned from the Aztec war and took up positions in the northern mountains just in case any American forces dared showed their ugly faces.

We founded a new city in the new province south of Aventine. The Persians continued wandering around Esquiline province and we blocked them here and there. An escorted Babylonian settler landed in western Esquiline province on the infamous Site C. They entered the coastal mountains and we were fortunate to be able to trap them their. We now have a chance to completely settle Esquiline province! One settler is on is way to the river north and west of Memphis and there is still plenty of land to settle on the southern peninsula. We need more settlers!

Our cities continued their building projects as temples, settlers, workers and spearmen were produced. Our workers continued to improve the land and build roads westward. We kept the science rate as high as we could while still maintaining the 4gpt surplus desired by the domestic department. We will learn monotheism in two turns.

NOTICE: Please reserve this thread for instruction posts by Department Leaders. This is not a discussion thread.

Please continue research in our quest for Education. When we complete researching Monotheism in two turns please instruct our Sooth Sayers to refine their science of religous studies and explore Theology.

Please try to keep the Sci Rate up around 70% so that we might move closer to the AI's technological lead. We are a backward people. We can't allow this to continue. ;)

Please continue the pre-build of our next wonder in Gorina.

Thank you, RM, for sending me the save. Instructions will be posted ASAP.

Aventine Build Queues:

Aureus: Library, Granary, Marketplace
Inadatto: Settler, Harbor, Marketplace
Regia Doughnutia: Granary, Settler, Library
Lake Asphinxia: Temple, Library, Barracks
Elephantine: Temple, Library, Barracks
Memphis: Library, Granary, Marketplace
New Jedina: Temple, Library, Granary

Aventine Improvements:

1) Finish current tasks.
2) Irrigate the cow SW of New Jedina.
3) Irrigate around Aureus.

Side note: Please rename Aqualonde to Aqualondë as I had originally requested.

For the most part I have a few line adjust ments, we don't need our men all the way out there, I can understand holding that neutral forest tile to make sure they don't encrouch on Memphis, but our forces are stretched thin enough by this line as it is.

Secondly, please build more spearmen, I'd prefer having AT LEAST one per city, the prevelence of unguarded cities worries me though the Maginot Line, settler traping, and Settler building, while are cutting into that, I feel are important ventures.

Also, keep an eye on that Free Persian settler NW of Nar Shadda. I can't see us trapping this one a kicking him out will do nothing but move him two tiles and possibily get Xerxes mad.

Other then that, if war comes PLEASE bring it to the forums for discussion, cause we're rather Vulnerable at the moment to an agressive assault.

When we are one turn from each tech, lower the science rate as low as possible to still maintain the same completion date. Once the new tech has been researched, raise the science rate to the highest rate which will retain a surplus of 4gpt or higher. This would be a standing instruction if they were part of the law... ;)

City placement priorities are as follows, on several maps.

Sites A & C on map 1:

The spot NW of memphis on map 5: BTW suggesting it as a location in the build plan thread was a smart move ;)

The coastal sites A&B from map 2. The persians can make it to site A prior to our settler, unless we block.

Micro-managing Tula. I asked the Quirinal governor to post the same instructions so there can be no doubt no matter who is managing this town. The only citizen of this town is currently an entertainer. To obtain growth, a cycle of flirting with disorder is required. President Donsig might already be doing this without instructions, if he's on top of the situation.. :D
  • Work the mined game to get some growth
  • Change to an entertainer to avoid disorder
  • Work the mined game
  • back to entertainer
  • etc.

Worker allocations: balance among the regions appears to be sufficient for now.

Advice on military: Domestic would certainly never offer instructions on this, but after the town NW of Memphis is built, the legion line can be carefully pulled in, and excess legions allocated to other tasks. I note the S land bridge can be held with only one more unit than currently available. A partial block on the Persians could provide enough time to produce a settler and build in map 2 site A.

Cash rush for one settler ~52 gold in Aqualonde is approved, if Governor Rik requests it.

Just in case Tula and Teayo are viewed as being in Domestic's responsibility (outside any province), here are build queues:

Tula: Spear (8 turns), Library
Teayo: Spear (8 turns), Library

Wonders: It is OK to switch Gorina to Sistine Chapel after Theology is known, though we are unlikely to reach it this set of turns.

Here are the build queues and Laborer instructions for Quirinal Province:
Bootia: Library (37), settler
Gingerbread City: Settler (13), temple
Yet Another City: Better Name (0 ;)), Worker (6), Spearman

Instructions for Tula and Teayo have been posted by the domestic leader and will be considered my instructions too if they are part of my province.

Also, switch a laborer at Gingerbread City from Grassland to the Iron. This will drop the turns needed to build a Settler from 13 to 7.

Have the workers continue to build a road towards Bootia, then link the Iron and Gingerbread City.

Big apologies for my lack of instructions this turn. With no T/Cs for a week, I lost touch with the rythm of things.

For this T/C, continue cities on their existing queues.
Once the queues have been exhausted, have cities with 2fpt surplus build a worker, and cities with a fpt >= 3 build settler.
After that, build a temple if the city deems it needed, or a library if the temple would be a waste.

My main worker tasks are to irriage any and all the plains that will be in use, that is, irragate as many plains as there are laborers to work them.

Finally, the mayors instructions:
From the mayor of Gorina:
upon our next growth (to size 9), the laborer work the new mines being built SW of town. When the Workers complete that mine, they might build a new mine in the hills NW of town. One more thing..we might want to think about bringing a spearman or other unit into the city as our third Military policeman to calm any unrest as our city grows. Thanks,

We don't need any new treaties right now. We need some interior work done. I know it seems a little isolationistic (if that's a word), but we can't do much with other civs right now.

If culture would extend in Egypt and Cleo wants our units to leave, please do so. This would also apply if we are asked to move by any other civ. I don't want another war.

Don't declare war. Don't sign Rops. Both could hurt our growth.

Request: If war is declared upon us, please take it to the people (forums) and the military department. This way, we can have a plan.

Buildqueue:

I have permission from Domestic and the budget to cashrush a settler in Aqualonde to be used to claim The Highlands of Esquiline ASAP. Combined with the settler nearly finished in Palatine sites A and C are the preferred locations.

instruction Send the spearman which is being build in Klixus-Major to block point 1;

request Don't release the Babylonians.

remark I give permission to use Nar Shaddaa's spearman to move into the mountains. By using him, Nar Shaddaa and the spearman from Xak Tsaroth (over which I have nothing to say) could prevent the Persians from moving to site A in the below map:

remark The persians will not build in the site named: "block site C". Don't waste our troops by moving there.

Rik Meleet
Governor of Esquiline Province

Ill take over from here Donsig :)

I need help connecting to the server through mIRC. I don't know the command to use. I have pmmed both Cyc and CivGeneral. If there is no answer soon I will have to play off-line. The pre-turn is done. I will upload the save now.

Have you tried to connect to irc.irc-chat.net. Also we have waited for you for nearly 10 mins. and then the Citizens suggested that I play the save since I am next in line of the CoC.
I have already gotten Noldy's Queues up. I have been waiting for an opertunity to play a TC.

I have mIRC downloaded and on I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO TYPE IN TO CONNECT TO irc.irc-chat.net!

The pre-turn is done and the save is uploaded and posted.

Just type in /server -m irc.irc-chat.net. Please Donsig, let me play this TC.

also, please notice that there are instructions in the chat office on how to connect. a proposal of me is that each president+vice should try to use a REAL chat client... ;-)
