When i run Civ3 on my main (Windows 2000) machine, it sometimes take 2-3 minutes before next turn pops up (in the later era's, 1900 A.D. and higher). My computer is fast enough, as far as i know. It's a Thunderbird 950 Mhz with 768 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 32 MB videocard, Windows 2000 SP2 and ALL the updates/hotfixes from Microsoft.
When I run it on my second machine (which is a P3-500 Mhz, 256 MB, nVidia TNT2 Ultra, Windows 98 SE with ALL updates), it runs a lot faster...
How is that possible, and more important, how do i fix this?
I got the lastest audio and videodrivers, and the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers for my chipset.
I play a standard map, with 5 other civilizations.
I run version 1.16f, with the correct patch (not the first one, but the fixed one). All background applications (except GetRight and Printer Icon) are disabled.
