This is the instruction thread for the Game Session on Thursday, April 30th.

The time of the Game Session is yet to be announced. But it will be this Thursday evening/night.

Attachments

Move all troops that can reach Soibhan or Rhiannon before the attack to the cities. SoZ puts Rhiannon as a higher priority than Soibhan, so if a unit can reach either city, it should go to Rhiannon. Also if domestic and trade comply, we can have trades for more gold, that extra gold could be used for unit rushes that can reach either city, and upgrades.

No one objected, so those are the official instructions. I am also quite pleased to say my disk drive may be fixed by the next T/C, or maybe by monday. not sure yet.
Sigh, this will be my last instruction thread for defense. :eek: time goes by so quickly.
 
One thing I think you should make clear in the instructions is to upgrade the Warrior in Molly (?) to a Gaelic Warrior BEFORE moving him. Moving the Warrior first will put us at a disadvantage, and could be easily overlooked by the DP.

Falcon02 raised an excellent point about the warrior in Molly.

Science can be altered as needed to minimize overrun and obtain gold if upgrades or rushes are needed.

Overseas exploration would be a good idea, when we have a good time to build the extra unit(s).

Molly wishes to switch our Library to a Gallic Swordsman (due in 3). Please rush this Unique Unit and send to Rhiannon to help protect the citizens there from those Barbarians. Then start a Library again.
 
Tech Research Order: Construction first, followed by Map Making, then Horseback Riding. In the Middle Ages (if we get there this turnset) Engineering is first, followed by Feudalism. Once we get Construction, learning at one-geek speed while we get rich is fine.

Trade Recommendations: Sell Writing to the Orange Apes for all their gold. Not a popular idea, I know, but it works to our advantage much more than buying knowledge from them and enriching them with our cash. We are selling old knowledge for about 219 gold, which is much more than our current supply of 119 gold.

Trade Suggestions: I would ask that the turns cease once we learn Construction, if and only if, we have not learned Map Making and Horseback Riding via The Great Library. We would want to discuss the wisdom of trading with the Byzantines (so we could enter the Middle Ages) and possibly gifting Byzantium/Ottomans into the Middle Ages and trading for their free tech.

Tech has one mind about getting to the Middle Ages; Trade has another. Both are valid, but I think this is something we should discuss.
 
Issues that concern the Domestic Department are the rushing or upgrading of units to embattle the Barbarians, and altering the citizen working tiles in the cities to bring us in more Commerce.

Our Settler production will cease until the Barbarians have been routed. We will continue at that time (or close to it). Culture will also be put on hold during the crisis.
 
If there are no governor or domestic orders to the contrary, to meet the barbarian threat builds may be switched to units and rushed as needed in cities that do not have instructions.

Yeah, we bad, we bad. We trounced our Barbs, the Byzantines Barbs, and the Fomorach's Barbs. Then took on a separate camp of 5 Horsemen from the Mountains. Completed the Statue of Zeus, produce an Ancient Cavalry already and have started populating the world again. Thanks for helping Falcon02 and DaveShack.
