Is there a way to have games auto default to game settings other than archipeligo and settler, etc?

I always forget to reset one of those when I start a game and end up restarting, again.

yea it's annoying the game likes to only remember certain options, mine always resets to standard continents, once in a while it will remember the last civ i played.

On another note my "random map type" selection will not let me chose it, anyone else have this issue?

Is the game crashing to desktop or something?? It might not be saving right if its crashing. My settings stick fine.

The game seems to remember the options you used last time you started with 'Set up game'. However it does not seem to remember if you start with 'advanced options'.

So say you want as default a continents game with no ancient ruins, this is not possible. The closest you can get is starting a continents game without going to the advanced screeen, then at least continents is defaulted every time even if you go to the advanced screen.

Seems to me that the game remembering more of your last choices even with advanced settings would be fairly trivial to code, just another lack of polish, sigh.

Did Civ 4 remember settings? Something tells me it did, yet I can't remember.
