I was bored one day and decided to fiddle with the options. I didn't know what gamma levels were, and, long story short, I can't play. I tried adjusting the contrast knobs, but I still can't see anything. My house caught fire recently, so, with any luck, the disc is irreparable and the insurance company will replace it. But in case not, I need somebody to help. Pravin is like a father to me!

Does your Alpha Centauri.ini file contain a line that begins with

Gamma Correction=

? If so, set the value to 136 (that's just my setting, nothing special about the value). You also could try adding Gamma Correction=136 to the [Alpha Centauri] section of the ini file (if no such line is present). If that doesn't help, rename your Alpha Centauri.ini and start a new game. This will create a new ini file with the default values. You may have to set ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1 if you had it set that way before. You also will have to add any other customizations to the new ini file.
