General Civ (IV & V) woes...can a dedicated Civ player get a hand??

I was able to play Civ IV a few month ago...even played BTS as a change of pace a little bit. Woe is me, those days are gone! I upgraded to Windows 7 and steped up to 64 bit. It seemed all Hell broke loose and I was recieving all kinds of error messages. As soon as I fixed one, a different one popped up. The current one is ##IDS_PRODUCT_URL## I cannot find a reference to this one anywhere. Please help

Is this a disc based Civ 4, Downloaded or Steam?

With Win 7 (non-steam versions) you usually have to install by right clicking on the setup file and choosing run as administrator, not doing this can cause a whole heap of problems.

Please post the full error message, that might give us more of a clue.
