Our cities are rioting -- why? The President's instructions were intended to prevent this, but it appears the tactic of setting entertainment to 100% did not work at all. We should have created specialists as needed, at least we would have received a partial turn of production that way. current need: Set entertainment to 20%, and find out why Civantonia is a little worse off for happieness with the same population as the others. We also need a specialist there, or pay more across the board and raise lux to 30%. This should be controlled turn by turn, using the specialist when to our benefit and lux when we grow.

We now make +11gpt at 20% lux and 0% science. How should that money be used?

We are strong vs Germany and Persia, average vs France, and weak vs Rome. now is a good time to start considering which city is our first objective to capture.

Rome is a threat to attack us, how do we avoid that?

Let's look at getting more luxuries please. :D And build some temples in the towns which need them, it's the same effect as one specialist without taking away the gold and production.

Another must now is to connect the wines, the one by Priapos and the one between Olympus and Civantonia. We should seek out luxury trades where we can, and ship them out from our ports. If we can get two lux trades out of this, that will stabilize diplomatic relations, and we can get Olympus up to pop 12, Priapos up to pop 10-11 and Augean Stables up to pop 9-10.

So please look into the lux trade aspect, the wines are there to be used.

I agree. With the road to the wines completed soon, we will have them available to trade. However, the only luxury trades (that I see available, no access to the save until tonight) are from Rome, which will take quite an effort to road to. Also, I can't see the save now, but if I remember correctly it looks like a city (perhaps Persian, possibly a foreign Civ?) suddenly appeared to the Western edge of Rome territory, coincidentally next to some Luxury. I think we need to discover what Civ this is, and determine how that will come into play.

My first thoughts on future wars, if I may offer, is a first offensive vs. Germany. They're weak, we get Roman help, and can use a Military Alliance to build stronger relations with Rome. Then, with Germany vanquished and a trade route to Rome, get in on trading for Rome's luxury. Later on, France would be our next target. Not only can we not take on Rome because there's a good chance they have an army (and a stronger military), but also we'll most likely need their Luxury trade. In the France war, we can take the Defensive ground and let Rome and France churn it up for awhile, then just take the city that our intellegence gives good ratings to. Besides, France seems to have better land (BG, etc.) where much of Rome is marsh and plains.

With the heart of the Roman army driving farthur into France, we can cut off the Roman army at the middle of the continent, and perhaps with Persian help (purely diversionary, most likely), divide and conquer.

This is, of course, just one scenario that could take place, and needs things to work for it to work well.

As for our own country, Marketplaces will become a big factor. I doubt that we'll have the minimum three luxuries to use the Marketplaces full potential, but we need the 50% commerce bonus to help pay for our expanding military.

Thanks for stealing my thunder, Dave. Now I'm late for work!

No, really, Dave. Thanks. :) A full proposal will be up later, but let's start the discussion now.

No problem, it was a slow day for SGs and so I finally had time to open the save and see how much work governing Styx will be. ;) Besides, I can't resist when we go nearly a day without substantial forum activity...
