General Turn Discussion

I vote wheel over AH right now cause I hate "wasting" :hammers: building warriors. Would much rather build the next generation of troops that can last a long time against barbs.

I agree and disagree. If we accept that we send only one worker to irrigate the wheat immediately for the copper city, the soonest we can have the copper hooked is turn 48; in the 18 turns between hooking the copper and we will likely end up building a fair few warriors, which is good as they are cheap explorers and we can use them as military police later on, using the axes on our borders our outside to kill barbs in the valleys, as they are effectively choke points. The downside is that we rund the risk of barbs screwing with us, but we can start building axes quickly at the copper city by turn 61 in the worst case scenario for the developement of that city.

Point taken, but (continuing my role as Devil's advocate) that 18 turns could potentially be used for workers and starting our next settler. Then we crank out a few axes asap. I'll try to sim it before making you explain to me the impossibility of what I've proposed.

Right after lunch....

Well...if we chop a further 2 forests (grass hill and plains hill) we can get another worker on turn 36, and plant the third city on turn 43. This requires that we don't build any warriors in the capital at all though (except to we grow to size 3)...and we rely on a couple of warriors from the copper city before, say, starting a baracks there, or we could just build warriors until we can build a few axes and let the barbs promote the axes for us, which is probably the way to go.

Your a hard one to keep up with Krill. I'm glad your not working for the opposition!

Letting the barbs promote our first axes is what I had in mind.

Thanks...

Also, this really ought to be discused in the other thread as it pertains to future planning, but is dificult to say what part of this discusion isn't relevent to the turn thread as reasoning for what we are doing now.

For the turn thread i need: votes and opinions on where to move units :) (what to build next if it is undecided)

exactly, if posts are like that then i can add it up before the team and execute the team's will.

yeah i always turn it on...but if someone logs in with it off...then when i go back in it is off :(

Hmm, well, I'd like to go due north east. But I suppose going 1E first doesn't hurt, since our borders will pop pretty soon too.

Warrior #1 - I vote E....
Worker actions according to plan to get settler on T30.

so E was the call. with a panther there +75% and the promotion will be nice :)

also i tagged another HUGE city site :)

we have +75% def + 20% versus animals.

so 3.9 vs 2. that is odds well voer 95%... :)
