General Turn Discussion

ok i am so lost on the grassland hill...

i need a screenshot.

right now worker is choping tile SW of our capital. then he moves SE to chop tile 2 S of the capital, the new worker move W to chops the tile 1 W of the capital.

then we havn't chopped any forests on hil but can still walk around?

our 4th chop should be the plains hill, either S or SW W of the city.

We move the worker we build this turn onto the forest W of the capital, and we move the worker 1 onto the grasshill north of the wheat.

 update in 8 hours but as a teaser:

we found ivroy, and more sugar :wow:

but also found a lion :(

We should be able to kill the lion, but it will cost us exploration due to the necessary healing. And it's better to fight lions than those pesky bears.

W1 NE >1.5, otherwise heal.
W2 NW.

Pottery unlocks Granaries, so it's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. AH and Horses are good, but Granaries are better. The ability to build cottages is just a bonus.

The ivory complicates things a little, and I don't enjoy MMing to optimise plans, but my gut feeling says to go Pottery, AH, Hunting.

ivory is also a :) buster. we can get the :) bonus before ironworking!

it also conviniently fits into our 3rd city site so it is feasible to have it hooked up before turn 60.

I definetly think the 4 worker plan is warrented now...

Ok so Warrior #1 is Lion dependant. As so as Husch plays ill look again.

Warrior #2 can go NE NE SE and still follow that other course i posted a while back, this reveals more tiles to the north as well.

This map is interesting; One direction we are hitting pretty rugged terrain, the other is vast jungle grasslands. Can't wait to see more!

So we live :) (and the bear didn't show up)
also 3 turns it will take to heal. but from the opinions here that seems to be the course of action!

War 1 heal>NE
War 2 NW>NW

Workers doing their thing

EDIT: Have we decided on next tech? I still vote AH of course!

I would get Hunting up first too...two reasons;

  • Ivory for happy
  • Elephants/Spears for mounted unit defense

AH seems like it should be after that though...

Hunt > AH

if we go hunt ==> AH we still get AH before our next settler....but we won't get pottery which means we'll have to get it after AH so that the cottage city can start up and going.
Also I think Krill and I have proved that we won't.

so hunt ==> AH ==> pottery?

I was going to say AH first... but as hunting is an optional requirement and we want it anyway, i'd say Hunting->AH - also, we might meet someone who has AH. Since we won't need either of them for a little while, I'd rather do it that way.

I'm good with Hunting>AH if we get AH before settler....

As it stands right now.... I would settle City #3 1S of the spot marked commerce city now, so the possible Iron site is in the fat cross.

EDIT: @Memphus....I missed the Ivory on 1st glance.....

We can't get AH from anyone without someone (us or them) first having Alphabet...that's much later than we can get it on our own.

What are you saying Memphus? With the Hunt>AH>Pot scenario, will city 3 be waiting for AH or will we have it before C3 is up?

we will have it before city 3 is up. we will get it just in tiem for the workers to hook up the cow. then we will get pottery for them to build cottages as we grow. then we can road to the ivory and hook it up for the :) buster just in time for the capital.

Great...I was starting to wonder if we should do pottery before AH...but with that answer, I'll stick to my original statement.

Hunting --> Animal Husbandry --> Pottery
