Civ'ed
I ain't gotta explain a thing
Following several terrorist attacks across the Earth in late 2015, and in the face of increasing crises in the Ukraine and Syria, most major nations have collapsed. Following this, various groups have stepped into the vacuum to control as much land as possible...
JOINING: Claim a territory, name your nation, flag, color, etc. more stuff optional, although a lot of RP will see me being able to focus on your nation in updates. As a general rule, don't like being ignored? Write stories!
NOTE 1: you must join as neutral, alignments will start being decided once the game starts.
NOTE 2: Please be realistic, it's 2015. Even Red Alert 2 for all its silliness managed to have nations that weren't far-fetched. By this I mean that all of your inspiration for nations should really come from a modern atlas.
Claiming: Doesn't exist in the game.
ALIGNMENT SYSTEM:
In the beginning of the game, everyone starts neutral, but there are several powers at work that will attempt to take over as many regions as possible and set up puppet states.
This is the alignment system.
There are five powers:
CHINA-SOVIET REMNANTS: The remnants of the Chinese government as well as Soviet hardliners and likes nuclear weapons, fire, more nuclear weapons, napalm, even more nuclear weapons, and human wave. Areas likely to be influenced by China-Soviets: Eastern Asia, Subsaharan Africa, South America
GLA: The GLA is a terrorist Coalition founded in Kazakhstan. It employs covert tactics and more terrorist fun stuff. Areas likely to be influenced by the GLA: Middle East, North Africa, Balkans
US REMNANTS: Following the collapse of the US, this is the remnants of the US government. Areas likely to be influenced by the US: Australia,North America, Western Europe
STRIGOI: The Strigoi are a mysterious cult operating out of Romania. They have the power of mind control. Areas likely to be influenced by Strigoi: Russia, Eastern Europe, Balkans
NOD: NOD is a small terrorist faction, nothing too serious, we think. Areas likely to be influenced by NOD: North Africa, Subsaharan Africa, Indian Subcontinent
However, each of the factions can influence other areas. these are just "most likely" areas. Each one will offer different RP options
Each faction allows several different tactics in warplans:
CHINA-SOVIET REMNANTS: Allows human wave, nuclear option.
GLA: Allows covert terrorist attacks across the world that are not counted as war declarations, but there is a chance of you being discovered
US REMNANTS: Allows Shock 'n Awe, Air superiority.
STRIGOI: Allows Psychic Beacons as a way of not spending armies on conquest, but counts as an automatic declaration of war.
NOD: Allows very non-covert terrorist attacks but these are almost always traced back to NOD, i.e. anyone attacked by a NOD terrorist attack is at war with NOD.
Wars: You can technically declare war on any specific nation, but remember that your overlords may not like you very much for attacking their own members. As such, it is safer to stick to attacking only enemy nations.
Battles: Battles are fought using roleplayed warplans rather than hard maths. Please be realistic, and note that some tactics are reserved for faction alignment.
If I see too many unrealistic orders (etc. "since 40% of our nation is an army send it all in a massive suicide charge") I will start implementing a statistic showing how large your army in numbers as 26 soldiers per 1000 capita (switzerland's total armed forces ratio) E.g. Having 1 million people in your nation gives you 26,000 men. No major depopulations have taken place yet so don't worry.
EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that not every nation has a volunteer active army. As such, if you can back it up with proof it'll pass. Of course, such sources as "my brain", "common sense", etc. are not proof.
