georgestow's Miss Me? / PCX request thread

A magnetic one? With an electromagnet?

Hey, Rockstar, how's your doing? :)
I have a couple of requests for buildings - I saw some things about them on the forum, but just the words, not an actual result. Possibly, this request will help one cool guy in making his new scenario about palms, eternity & FC Roma. :)))
Man, would you be so kind to create:
1) wonder splash for Sphynx. OK, there're tones of pics on the inet, but I couldn't find the only 1 which would fit my sense of beauty. I want it WITH nose, at least, possibly reconstructed (not a Las Vegas version, thanks). :) I created a splash by myself - but, you know, I don't damn like it. Yeah, it's better than nothing - but the good is better than just something, agree? :)
2) icons, building_32 & splash for Karnak Temple - the biggest temple of ancient world, I would be surprised if there'll be no this wonder into the coming soon scenario. :)

Thanks, many-many-many, in advance! :)
Hey, hey, you GONNA be a Rockstar! :)

A magnetic one? With an electromagnet?

Finding a picture for this was oddly hard. But I guess so it was for the others. Anyway, this is what I've managed to come out with.

(don't tell anyone, but it's a Colin the Crane toy from Thomas the Tank Engine. ;))

Also, to everyone else who has requested stuff, I'm not ignoring you, I'm just going to do these requests in the order that they've been asked. So, they'll all get done (unless it's something that I can't do or really can't be bothered to do because it's a stupid amount of work). ;D

I know I've requested these before, but I could really use a "suburbs" improvement -- neat little houses all in a row along a peaceful street (white picket fence optional). Also, and this seems to be an appropriate thread in which to ask, how about the Church of St. George (Bete Giyorgis) in Lalibela, Ethiopia?

I like your book wonders very much and I use them in almost every adaption I make of other mods/scenarios. If you still take requests I would love to add two books to the collection:
  • the Poetic Edda, which is the closest you get to a holy book of Norse mythology
  • the Wulfila Bible, also known as the Gothic Bible, the translation by bishop Wulfila for Goths who like many of the Germanic tribes became Arian Christians (not Aryans ). This bible is preserved to our days as the Codex Argenteus (the Silver Bible) which is believed to have been written (with golden and silver ink on purple pergament) for the Ostrogothic King Theodoric the Great.

This is the best I've managed to come out with. I'm not too happy with it and if you could give me some better pictures, I'll use them instead. I, knowing very little about the request, cannot search well for decent pictures. Unless these are good enough?

They are certainly good enough; the perfect is the enemy of the good. I've always liked that little Thor figurine so I'm happy with your choice. If you want alternatives then google Thor's hammer, as being the perhaps most wellknown symbol of Norse paganism and for a while their alternative to the Christian cross.

There's no decent portrait of bishop Wulfila himself that I know of and you've done a good job with one of the less crappy. An alternative here could be to focus on his work; the Gothic bible itself, like showing one of the pages out of Codex Argenteus:

What script is that? Looks like a cross between Cyrillic/Greek and Latin

It's Gothic, written with an alphabet invented by Wulfila for his bible translation into Gothic and based on the Greek alphabet with some runes added.

I think I'll stick with the little Norse figurine fella, but how about this for the Gothic Bible?:

There are quite a few versions of gothic fonts available - even for free. Just in case there is a need to do any text. This is a quick manipulation of the jpeg using Readable Gothic - which is available at places like Dafont.com and FontRiver.com.

Erm, that's a bit, um, small…

I know, but we can't even see the letters…

It's a big red G The rest is just the image from wolfheart value-inverted, some quick hue / contrast adjustments, & a CnP of the first few lines to create the initial block.

This is a quick manipulation of the jpeg ....

Rightyo. It's done. Check my library for the finished product.

I put this in the pcx request thread but no one picked up, but how about a modern military check point with a barrior arm, perhaps a small building, some sand bags etc. Could be a terrain building. I don't have a specific use for it but if you want something to do you could do it.

Hm. How about this?

Also, which of the things released this month should I enter in the monthly contest?
