There would be no American Imperialism? Considering the American Empire started with the Spanish-American war (and some would say as early as the Louisiana Purchase), I don't see how you can claim the Japanese could have prevented it from existing.
It should be said that though all scientists use metric all (or most) trades people use standard.
Anyone know about my re-spawn question? Will a country re-spawn if a stable nation captured it's initial capital and plunged it into civil war?
Anyway I like the idea of bumping Russia out early (but for my re-spawn concerns) because it allows you to take them down before they make any defensive pacts. I found defensive pacts were a huge pain in the ass. This was one of the reasons I found the nuke approach so simple. You can get peace with anyone if you nuke them until they comply and as long as you don't plan on keeping the territory nukes are awesome. Even then it's not difficult to swoop in with your army of workers, which is likely building redundant railway inferstructure by this point and clean up the mess (unrealistic IMO I've read of instances of pickled mushrooms bought in Tyrnobal that set off Geiger counters at customs).

Japan didn't have the production capacity to have a serious chance at victory. Sure, they could have done better, but it's not like it was a coin flip.
Realy people.
Can't a guy make a comment at how he wish that the Axis forces won WW2 without you people disecing it to prove that it would not change things like your life depends on it.
Jesus, realy. Can you just be civilised and call me a dam nazi like normal people would.
lol
I really think the whole Nazi Germany thing is something that got blown out of proportion after the famous incident where Adolf Hitler wanted to give Jesse Owens a high five at the 1936 summer games in Berlin, but as most know Owens left him hanging. This was the origins of the so called "Nazi salute" and it lead to a gross misunderstanding in diplomatic European politics for the next decade.
I won with universal suffrage, free speech, free religion, emancipation and free market. My people were totally free - which also means they were free to revolt if they felt like it, heh
I used pol state and nationalism when I did it too, but I don't think it was usefull with my strategy of panzers/nukes. I only went to nationalism because I feared plague. I think my fav was caste system... that's unlimited scientists specialists. If I had known how useless bombers would be I would have beelined for medicine after getting nukes. I still think I ended the game with something like US/CS/SP/FR/Cw. Not as free as others but not the same third reich that I used to conquer. I don't think PS or or Nat are required to win, I think that people draw this connection historically rather than from analysis. Afterall nationalism won't produce my panzers and if I'm not drafting or whipping then the war weariness penalty is not a huge deal either. Occupation is definitely a huge part of winning though.
Looking back I would still use PS(only cause US would make war wearyness much worse) and Occ while conquring, but afterward it is not a big deal as those confrontations can be ended quite quickly.
