[R&F] Getting Rolled on Deity

I do not know if there are unwinnable starts on Deity. With enough save scumming maybe everything is doable. However it is a slog to get no production starts and trying to eke a win out there. As I have a job I straight up restart such positions. However coming from Civ 5 deity I feel Civ 6 deity to be a tad easier in some respects. Here religion is still gettable and most important wonders can still be built.

In Civ 5 you were not guaranteed any wonders(save ones you rushed with GEs and maybe the Hubble Telescope) or a religion. It was 4 city tradition deity SV strat all the way. Then again I maybe wrong as I have only got 100 hours or so and have played decent/OP civs like Rome,Macedon,Numidia and France on Civ 6 deity(won all of them).

P.S. In Civ 5 however there were really no/very few unwinnable starts. Production was so different. Also 4 city Trad SV or a straight out Diplomatic victory was always obtainable there on deity.

I am ashamed at how many hours I had on Civ V.

There was this Fall Patch that came out that made the AI highly aggressive.
You would see some serious carpets around turn 15 to 30.
Very brutal and the Let's Plays were obsolete during that run.
They nerfed it in the next patch.

Civ IV is by far harder compared to V and VI.
The AI can handle Stacks of Doom compared to 1 Unit per Tile.
Civ V wasn't always about 4 City Tradition.
Many ways to ICS in that game as well but growth equaled a ton of science.
The AI was much better at taking over a Map and running away with science.
However, the Warmonger game was just about as easy from the players who knew all the ins and outs.
One strategy I would see/use was to build roads all over the place making it easy for troops to move in and out.

One of the main problems with VI compared to V is that you have so much more time.
You can forget Science for so long compared to V.
The AI is better at War on V compared to VI.
I always felt more tension in my V games compared to VI but the IV games always seemed much harder compared to V and VI.
I don't think this is any news though.
A common complaint in V and VI is that they are watering down the game.

Civ V is a beautiful looking game and IMO is much harder than Civ VI at the Deity Level.
I made the switch to Civ VI when it came out as I did from IV to V and can not see myself going back... only forward.
Although when VI came out I played for a month or so but the game was so bad/easy I barely played until Rise and Fall came out.
Thankfully Gathering Storm is coming out now because I was about to take a long break again.
