GGF1: Incas

summary?

We have a ****ty starting location, find spanish below us. We magically get a galley over 4 tiles of sea to find persians and mayans to our west. We send bunches of swordsmen down to spain and kill the spanish. Our science rate is horrible, our goverment sucks, gpt is in the red, and we still have to research 4 more techs or so before even starting to prepare for a conquest of Persia and Mayaland. In the meanwhile we have not been able to construct a single wonder, as there are probably various civs who have great starting locations and empires somewhere in the darkness.

Gogf I sent you the save

o man...i thought i told u guys i was at a friends house, my mistake. Go ahead and skip me, since I can not play c3c until friday.

Mitsho: If you can, play, tell us. If you don't tell us by January second, I'll assume you can't tell us, and we'll go on to aaminion00.

Um - shouldn't I play before aaminion?

(how can I post screenies? the paint-format doesn't work. What program do I have to use?)

jpg. Or gif. Hakon, it's you! Please tell us once you get the save. Once we get monotheism, get Chivalry. Hakon, start a Knight's Templat pre-build. After Chivraly, go to navigation. Now that we have Feudalism, this is great :). Just remember Chivalry, and the prebuild, then navigation (just want to keep repeating this :)).

Got the save - will play within a day.

Turn 0 (350 AD): Start micromanagement. Go from -1gpt (at 50% science) to +11 gpt. Change production to harbor in most cities (Vilcas, Seville, Andahuaylas, Toledo, Vitcos, Vilcabamba), as this will allow us to get some food out of those commerce-rich coast squares, so cities won't starve. +11gpt, Monotheism in 8turns.

IBT: Madrid Palace -> Sun Tzu (KT prebuild). Barca library -> MP. Vitcos harbor -> library.

Turn 1 (360 AD): Change production in Cuzco, Tiwanaku, Corihuayrachina, Ollantaytambo to courthouses. Change sliders to 4.6.0 (+4gpt, MT in 6 turns)

IBT: Andahuaylas harbor -> library.

Turn 2 (370 AD): Zzz.

IBT: Smoke-Jaguar demands Construction. The cheek! Rejected of course. Toledo library -> MP. Santiago galley -> MP.

Turn 3 (380 AD): Adjust sliders to 3.7.0 (+13gpt, MT still in 4 turns)

IBT: Seville harbor -> library. Vikings complete Sun Tzu.

Turn 4 (390 AD): Change prod in Madrid to marketplace due to the completion of STA.

IBT: Vilcas harbor -> library. Lose a galley to the ocean, but no units.

Turn 5 (400 AD): Zzz.

IBT: Madrid MP -> library. Vilcabamba harbor -> MP.

Turn 6 (410 AD): Sliders to 6.4.0 (+28gpt, MT still in 1 turn).

IBT: Monotheism -> chivalry. Barca MP -> Temple.

Turn 7 (420 AD): Sliders to 3.7.0 (-7gpt, Chivalry in 6 turns)

Turn 8 (430 AD): Move a swordsman to Cuzco from Tiwanaku for military police. Sliders to 4.6.0 (+5gpt, 5turns).

IBT: Madrid library -> cathedral (KT prebuild). Tiwanaku courthouse -> wealth. Vitcos library -> MP.

Turn 9 (440 AD): Save Barca from riots by giving them a clown. Temple in 1 turn there anyway. Sliders to 3.7.0 (-8gpt, 3turns - save a turn).

IBT: Barca temple -> courthouse. Ollantaytambo riots.

Turn 10 (450 AD): Not much. Micromanage Barca.

Summary: Please do not change the way squares are used by cities. Keep an eye on the governor, he's bound to change it. Shields and food aren't that important with accelerated production, what we need is commerce, and that quickly. If you change, you better have a reason for it (like getting more commerce). I know I'm sounding picky, I know micromanagement is boring, but this really is important if we're gonna have a shot at winning this.

It's gonna be hard to get KT - by my best calculations, Madrid will have a shot at it at about 550 AD if you change to Knights Templar immediately after chivalry is researched. So change from cathedral to Knights Templar in Madrid - there is a chance! Also, change wealth in Tiwanaku to Knights - we wanna go for Persia soon, after all it is a conquests win.

Also, research navigation after chivalry - there is an extended amount of sea squares southeast of Santiago, where there could be some land. Sadly, I can't zoom out enough to show you.

Fight on

Alright Aaminion00. Yes, change the cathedral to Knight's Templar, and then do go for navigation (ie I agree with everything Hakon said).

Hakon is playing his cards right...
I really think we can mass an arsenal now that we have that palace in place, we should start thinking of where to put the FP once Persia and Mayans fall...just in case!

PS Don't forget to max out shield production in 1 or 2 more cities, just so we can make pre-builds for other hopeful wonders

one other thing, even though I know we are in a feudalism, I think we should build a aqueduct in Madrid (when we can) so this will become a major shield production city, what you think?

Agreed  Possibly starve Tiwanaku and Cuzco a bit and sell off their aqueducts to get money - so we can support more units. Also, we need to start producing units like Knights and stuff on the Inca continent, so possibly start to emphasise shields just a tiny bit.
