Ok so I changed our goverment to democracy. In the meanwhile I loaded half our army in England onto galleys and sent them across the ocean to the Germanic part of Celtland. I also sent a galleon with an infantry and 3 cavalry to one of the Celtic islands. After a few turns of dodging frigates and not losing a single one of our ships, I landed next to the Celts lone rubber resource (as far as I can see they have no oil). At a loss of only 2 cavalry, I took the city from them in 1390 A.D., the same year I landed on the other island. Then I went on to capture Nuremberg (guys, their cities are all defended by pikemen and spearmen. Only one or two rifflemen or infantry at most). For my parting shot for the turn I took Leipzig. This one was by far the hardest battle, since it had 2 veteran rifflemen who annhialated 4-5 cavalry before I captured it. I boarded a good deal of what remained of the army onto galleys and sent them to what remained of the German peninsula. Then I pressed "end turn".
And this is why a continued war against the Celts would prove annoying. Their armies are technologically inferior, but by the next turn they send some 2 rifflemen, and 20 medieval infantry to the gates of my captured Celtic cities. I figure, ok, let's take what we can get. We first capture their island cities at no casualties. Then we check if they still want peace... comeon... Yes, they still want peace. I lose a cavalry or two trying to capture Hannover and Konigsberg but... oh well, no matter. We got the rubber that we came for, along with two extra cities to solidify our presence. We take peace with Brennus, getting 6 gold and all his maps along the way. Yay...
Brennus gets pissed at our troops staying longer than they should have, but in return they all get sent to nice tidy spots bunched up for easier transport home. An investigation into Caesara shows that the Byzantines won't compete TOE for 32 turns. The Celts started even more recently and can't possibly ahead. With the end to the war, a surge in "we love the sapa-inca" days occurs throughout the country. Judging from the war against the Celts, I'd say we'd need about 100-150 cavalry for a guarranteed success. We already have like what... 60.
We get scientific method, and switch Barcelona to the ToE, which will be completed in... 1 turn! I make a deal with the celts. Our gems, 15gpt, 392 gold, for the Corporation. Done. End turn... ToE done. We get atomic theory, and combustion, start research on steel. Madrid begins universal suffrage. End turn....
)!*&$)(!@*()%*#()%*(#^_)~~!!!! DIRTY *******!! THE BYZANTINES DECLARE WAR ON US!?!?!
They take our city with rubber on the England continent since I had left it undefended.
I sent my whole army up there. Ibt they sent 2 cavalry and an infantry to a city defended only by a crusader and cavalry

no chance for that... we'll have to recapture it later. Good news on the Eastern front though. We've completely repelled their advance, taken back the city, and destroyed all their secondary lines.
I wish I had another 10 turns to make them pay but... I guess it's up to you guys now.
