Why not? Good for people who who don't like GDR, no problem for people who do like it.

If sifi is in, then at least balance it out with more techs and units... Please!

So I have to ask for an update (haven't bought the game yet), how is this thing in the game? Is it as ridiculous as it sounds? Is it useful, or OP in actual combat?

The thing is that the entire game is so stupid that no one even cares about the GDR. I was very sceptical at first, but it actually fits into the game very nicely, since it seems that the game was designed for kids and people previously unfamiliar with the series.

Thread for the lose...

the GDR was actually asked for on this very forum with a poll and everything.

Here's some cool youtubes showing a working quadriped robot. Biped probably won't work, but quadriped maybe. This robot is for transporting for soldiers. A soldier's pack is 100+ pounds. This robot would carry most of that for them, which makes soldiers able to move quicker and have more endurance. The next step would be adding weapons. It obviously can handle the weight.

And if there was a real large sized one that walked around carrying soldiers... one shot to a leg would destroy it. Better off with a faster and more reliable and less expensive APC.

I like the GDR. The game has problems, but I don't see the addition of a light-hearted unit like as one of them.

Ok, you know they have big defense and siege handicaps, right? And you could probably use enough meatshields to make short work of one with stealth bombers and rocket artillery. They aren't too hard to kill if you just focus more on killing them and less on OMG GIANT DEATH ROBOT IM SO SCREWED.

AI civ 20 techs ahead has one (or more) of these. Aborted my invasion to stop them from winning Space Race.

I think I'll prepare better with air support next time.

I also had fun with GDR after I completed a game I already won and took 5 of them to take over the other continent.

They take a lot more damage than I expected. So definitely kill-able with conventional weapons.

GDR comes very late in the game. Last time I had the opportunity to build it, I already used the uranium I had for building nuclear power plants as I was preparing for a space victory. I can imagine that some warmongers find the GDR sharing resource with the nuke is troublesome. ;)

I was worried about GDR before the release. Now that I know how the Civ V resource system works, not so much. Uranium is not a too common resource.

CivV is way inferior to CivIV in so many ways. This is just another example.

haters gonna hate... I love ciV and cIV.

critics love it. hardcore fans love it. why'd you needa say civ5<civ4?

THIS IS THE FACT: (Civ5=Civ4)>anything else

Civilization 5? What is that?

:dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious: :dubious:

you, cr0ws, who by yourself lived in a civilised world, and, by civilised ways, registered in CivFanatics since 2008, DO NOT KNOW, what Civilization V is?
