GL - I don't understand

Hi,

after some advices read on these forums I've finally moved from Regent to Monarch. I am currently playing C3C with Baylonians, and had practically no chance to build any wonder in ancient and middle age. Now I am at the end of the game (modern times) and I've just conquered the city with Great Library. And... nothing. I have expected that I will acquire all techs known by Koreans, but I've learned nothing . And they had Satellites . Does the GL Tech Acquire function in C3C or in other editions?

Great Library only works if you have not yet learned the Education technology (doesn't matter if other civs know it or not)

But I have read somewhere, that when you conquer GL later in the game you become all technologies known to the previos GL owner.

The GL becomes obsolete with the tech/advance called Education. You are in the modern age, Education is a middle age tech.

you'll find the description of the situation I mention. SirPleb has taken the city with GL and acquired all techs known to Americans.

That only works if you still don't know education yourself. Once you do, the GL is obsolete for you.

Example 1: You had an isolated start, and are still researching Monotheism while the AIs are working on Magnetism. You swarm the GL city with 50 horsemen and capture it. Next turn, you accumulate every tech that at least two of your AI contacts know, even past education.

Example 2: You had bad territory and are still behind in the industrial age, researching Electricity while the AIs are working on Flight. You swarm the GL city with 50 cavalry and capture it. Next turn nothing happens, because you already knew Education before aquiring the GL.
