Hi,

There is a problem with my Quick Contacts (chat) area, in that, it is missing! This has nothing to do with the browser used (tried every browser and every OS).

There are further problems with the chat feature. If anyone adds me to their Quick Contacts, the chat option is greyed out!

I have logged in with Google Talk and that works fine.

I have emailed gmail-support@google.com but they provide no support.

Help! :(

Seems OK to me... but then again I don't really use it.

It's only just been released hasn't it? Maybe they will sort out any errors soon *shrugs*.

Not sure what else to do, sorry.

Trying chatting with stormbind@.. and I bet it the option will not exist :(

hmm, mine works fine so it may be something on googles side of the deal thats wrong.
i added you and will check to see whether or not you are on. i think that you need to accept an invitation though

Can you send me the invite?

i just added you to the list and it said that you are 'invited'. check your e-mail

I had an option to turn that off. It was in the centered text at the bottom of the page. Check and see if you inadvertently clicked on that.

Edit:

oh yeah..that might be a problem. how could i forget that?

Ah, I dunno. Can't check it from home because I use OS9 (Mozilla 1.3) but I'll take a closer look tomorrow while sitting at a lovely new G5 :)

Thanks for trying to help :)

Solution found: Setting language to English (US) enables the Google Talk boxout. Having it set to English (UK) leaves the option disabled.

Stupid!

Yeah, that's pretty bizarre. How different is English(US) and English(UK)? I must admit, I've never messed with the language settings.
