"Go ahead, make my day!"

A lot of us can't get away from numerical arguments.

I'm sure you can find suitable quotes from ST:TOS from Spock and McCoy, such as

"Random chance seems to have operated in our favor" -- Spock
"In plain, non-Vulcan English, we've been lucky" -- McCoy
"I believe I said that, Doctor" -- Spock ("The Doomsday Machine")

"At my signal... unleash hell."

-when I'm gettin' ready to Praetstomp

Spoiler :
(Maximus Decimus Meridius)
Spoiler :
Commander of the Armies of the North
Spoiler :
General of the Felix Legions

Spoiler :
Oh, and if for any reason I ever attach a GG to a Praetorian, he is inevitably renamed to "Maximus". :D

I actually tend to say this more when playing Alpha Centauri, since I'm much more warlike there, but I paraphrase Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. His quote: "Sauron's wrath will be terrible, his retribution swift." My quote: "His retribution will be swift, his judgment harsh!" Either way, it's not good for whoever DOW'd me or my pact buddy.

Using Dachsian self-censoring, I can finally share some of what it is like for Antilogic to comment on the AI:

"Are you <stuff> <dorking> me, you <apple> <fudging> AI piece of <stuff>?"

That is most often screamed at Cathy and her backstabbing ways. Or when the AI starts bulldozing full towns for farms and bulldozes its farms for cottages.

I always get up a cultural names list on Google and give my Woodsman III healers names and a junior to mid officer rank to accompany their Medic III GG CO. Often do the same for the GG if its something silly like Scipio of Aztec. Unless Ivan The Terrible appears, for whom I append something unprintable to his name that fans of Withnail & I should be able to guess.

When this happens to a Town they've just culture-flipped and I'm about to reclaim, I turn the air blue. The idiots bulldozed Alsace-Lorraine for a blooming potato field.

To be fair, if they are losing that tile back to you in some turns anyway it's a pretty smart move on their part.

meanwhile, playing as Koreans...

Me (one turn before my catapults came out): inhale...
(Click Next Turn...)
Me: HHWWWAAACCCHHHHA!!!!

(Feels like Bruce Lee want to kick some AI's butt)

A great stress reliever IMO :)

So...I got to thinking, (which can always be dangerous, just ask my wife) does anyone else say any famous lines from movies, or am I just strange?

Yes, constantly. Big movie geek here. But even stranger, I also use a lot of lines from Lucasfilm/-arts adventures, some of my favourites: "Ah-haaaa, a secret passage! This is all tou eysey!!!" from Maniac Mansion 2 or "How appropriate, you fight like a cow" from Monkey Island or "Deine Wahl war... schlecht" ("You chose poorly") from Indiana Jones III, which through German translation has a nasty subtext that was not there in the English original...

P.S.: Almost forgot my all time LFL favourites: "Nen Piraden aufzuhalden is' nich' ungefehrlich!" ("Don't mess with a pirate") and "Ai hoffendlich isses wichdich" ("This better be important"). All stuff the pirates say when you try to stop them and learn fencing. This was hilariously funny brilliant translation work and my kid brother and I were laughing our butts off. Some of that stuff is still a running gag between us even today... ;)

Now you will pay for your lack of vision

Fit for many occasions. But usually for Tok's lack of desire to cooperate.

I think the AI should plan on (and actually be effective at) getting that tile back through military means.

It's almost like the AI knows it sucks at war.

:rotfl::trophy:

Ahh yes, now you mention that classic, how on earth could I forget that on more than one occasion when not having a certain resource...
'I've some extremely distressing news. We haven't got any wine. What are we gonna do about it?'
And when an AI does something I don't like...
'I've been watching you, vasseling those other civs like a ... You want working on.'

And of course when the leader of the Aztecs does a surprise DOW you just know what I'm going to be screaming ;) ;)

Ya just gotta luv Monty (not!), you spend 3/4 of the game having a great bromance, then out of the blue he gets a wild hair up his arse and DOW's the entire world. This of course bones you on your Diplo vic that you have been so carefully nurturing through out the game, and you wind up screaming at the monitor "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore"..... Then you click next turn :crazyeye:. Yup, civ addiction is brutal at times.

Now I´ve got a Machine Gun, ho ho ho.

Considering how close to xmas it is, That quote would do John Maclain proud.. Yippie ki ay!

Right before pressing the "red button" launching a nuke I savor the moment and say to myself "General Cody .... Execute Order sixty-six ! " in a wicked Emperor voice from Star Wars

oh and of course "Brave, brave Sir Robin ran away, away. When the danger reared it's ugly head he bravly turned his tail and fled. Oooohh Brave Brave Sir Robin !" ^^ on any occasion when knight withdraws from combat ;)

Personally I prefer "Commence primary ignition".
