Going for my fist domination victory

I've usually won by space ship or diplomacy before, but after reading all the great tips on corruption and strategies on this site I decided to go for a domination victory. It's turing into a very long but extremely interesting game. I'm German (yellow arrow) I'm allied with Persia (green arrow) He is wiping out everyone on his continent, and I'm wiping out India and France on my continent (Russia is history), what do you think will happen by the time I get nukes and it's just me and Xerxes left?? It's going to be interesting

There is a rather easy way to win this case: build LOTS of settlers, then sign an ROP with Xerxes, take all the settlers over there, along with four defenders each.

Declare war, found cities all over (yes, this is an ROP exploit).....

btw, you can try to snap up land by settling between the cities Xerxes captures before he can build culture there!

Build at least one city on the other continent just as Lt Killer suggests. It will act as your staging ground. Make sure though you VERY heavily fortify it. No nukes will be needed.

Build 8-10 transports and lots of armies 2-3 of them must be MI. I am suggesting a D-day landing!!

Cleaning your own continent is your first priority. Declare war with the Persians and have a military alliance against them with the English and Babylonian with one luxury item should be sufficient (let the MPPs between you & the Persians and the Persia & the English expire first ). That should soften the Persians or at least move the troops out of counter attack position when you land.

After expelling the French and Indian off your continent (should take about 20 turns) Let 8-10 fully loaded transports land your troops on the southeast shore of the Persian empire. and slowly move upward. Make sure you build the airport on the first captured city. Build temples there after on every captured city.

Send another 5 transports with just MA to take the northern part of the continent. But the time you captured the entire Persia empire, you should have the domination victory. If not, kill the English with attacking forces from 2 fronts.

Instead of an RoP exploit what do you think of this other idea I have, leave a city wide open on my west (left) coast totally empty of my military, perferably a city surrounded by mountains. load the mountains with artillery and mech inf and Panzers, the surrounding cities loaded with bombers and 20 to 30 subs off my west coast. If they get through the subs, then my bombers weaken them and my arty and panzers finish him off before he gets near my empty city. When his invasion slows to nothing, then land the 10 loaded transports I have and WHAM, it's over before you can say "Give me all your techs, 4 cities, and 100 gpt xerxes" hehe

nice one, but you have to be sure they go for that city.....

that's why I prefer to found a city on their continent - that is then sure to get priority. You can either do that in peace on a free tile, or do it Normandy style

which is actually the most fun, in DS2 we saw France throw 100 Mech Inf (no tanks for them) at our beachhead city in 1 round. They lost 94 IIRC

not always, it (now? 1.29?) seems to have a 'reachability' check for units, so it will not commit units from too far away - and thus you might get attacked somewhere else where they massed troops. So you cannot concentrate all forces near an empty town. If, on the other hand, that town is on their continent, then they will go for that (since they do not keep the troops on ships all the time).

Cool I never knew that killer, I used to use that exloit with the previous patch 121f?? but haven't tried it since I put 1.29 on, I'll give it a try and let you know

my only suggestion is to declare war on england and let england attack you. This forces persia to fight a war with england. Do this if and only if persia looks like they are going to win and your mpp is in the 10+ turn range.

I dont know what great wonders the french and indians have but I would concentrate your attack on the one that has the most desireable wonders or resources. Fight a defensive battle against the other.

Are you in war time economy? If you set your cities to build a structure and other finished cities on military production, you will blow the socks off the indians and french. If you defeat either on, you will go back to normalcy production. Set your cities to a structure and then hit war time production. You will own both civs fast.

I know where you're coming from kb2tv, but I already have a war going on with babolon and they share the same continent as the persans, so persia and babalon are knocking heads getting no where while I"m slowly wiping everyone off my continent (france is history now, now I'm going to attack India. ANyway I have not seen one babalon military unit, probalby becuase they are so busy with persia, but after my war with india is over I'll help Persia wipe out Babolon and then I'll turn on Persia, I probably will win by domination long before but it's good to plan ahead, don't you think??
ps.. I've been mostly in war time economy, Now I have a huge army and normal economy will suffice.
