USE PARLIAMENTARY & PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS UNDERWAY, MILLIONS RACE TO POLLS

Current Parliamentary Make-up
Upper House:

Conservatives - 92
Liberals - 32
IIP - 21
CC - 5
FIP - 3
SWP - 18
FP - 4
NSDP - 0

Lower House:

Conservatives - 23
Liberals - 8
IIP - 1
CC - 0
FIP - 2
SWP - 9
FP - 1
NSDP - 0

As anyone can see, the conservatives still control a vast majority of the parliament of both houses, and will most likely further strengthen that lead in the upcoming elections with the popularity of president nixon and the seemingly spared USE due to its conservative economic policies. The results will be in within 24 hours and we all eagerly await the new numbers.

OOC: I got these numbers straight from goober, so no complaining about my conservative bias.

OOC - He copied and pasted them too! Evil person . . . and the fact that an American can win a USE election . . . anyway, is it Watergate time yet?

BTW, I have addressed some complaints, and fixed parts of the Update. Will continue working on them, time permitting.

Talks in Korea

ed5f775918076c.jpg

Sergey Ivanov flew in today into Pyongyang in order to meet with a number of Korean officials. General Cho Myung-rok was among the delegation meeting Ivanov. Officially the topics of the talks included nuclear disarmament, food supplies, and refugee problems. Unofficially most analysts say that the talks were a show of good will from Russia, and a sign that Russia will not interfere in the ongoing Korean-Japanese conflict and Korea will not involve Russia in it in any way. Ivanov also visited Kim Jong Il in the hospital and wished him the best in his recovery.

At the press conference that followed between Ivanov and General Cho Myung-rok the Koran side, as a sign of good will towars Russia, released information and documents conserning UIS-Korean diplomatic exchanged in which the UIS representatives urged Korea to take military action against the Russian Federation and promised to back Korean in such case. Certain documents conserning Japanese-Korean negotiations were also exhanged, but those remained private.

Mr. Ivanov thanked the Korean side for cooperation, and promised to return the favor when Russian help was needed in Korea. He left for Moscow yesterday, and there is yet to be an official statement conserning the scandal over UIS-Korean negotiations.

LIES!

HERESY!

BURN HIM!

Japan announces it can neither confirm nor deny these statements.

EDIT:

Japan also announces that it awards Vladivovstk (spelling?) the award for Russian city with the most unpronounceable/unspellable name.

The conservatives made considerable gains, gaining more than 15 seats, mostyl from the liberals and socialists. It is expected that within a matter of days, provided the conservatives win the presidency as predicted, they will pass a series of laws expanding executive power and shooting down any sort of legislation that involved demilitarization that was produced under the only liberal president 6 years ago.

that is a very confusing move, especially after you have stirred up the world quite a bit as Korea, and I am not sure I aprove of it

I wasn't aware I needed your approval.

I didn't even want to reveal what the UIS said publicly, but Stormbringer insisted on it as a condition of him helping me. He wanted to create a 'stir' and make things more exciting. So, you reap what you sow.

Double post.
