Did you survive?
Did you build any wonders?
Were you able to trade any techs?
Did I make it too easy?
Have you driven on US HWY 101 on the Pacific Coast?

Well did I survive.. Yes..

Did I build any wonders.. Yes a couple.
1560BC Stonehenge
1240BC Pyramids
1080BC Oracle took CoL. Didn't want to risk going for CS at immortal this late.
500 BC Great Library
375 BC The Parthenon
125BC The Hanging Gardens

Currently 8 turns to Notre Dame.

Trade techs..

Not very many. Hattie is up on me by a few but I have currency and alphabet on Cyrus/Hattie.

Religious strife. Founded conf then Hattie founded Christianity and converted plus Cyrus converted as well so might go back to NSR until Christianity spreads to one of my cities. Especially with my lack of units atm.

Even managed to get to 11 cities though sharing the NW island with Hattie.

Did you make it to easy?

Perhaps. This would have been a nice deity map to play. Have to see how the other civs which I haven't met are doing.

Only driven once in the USA and that was from LA to Las Vegas no idea what highway that was??

So currently going ok. Slider down to 10% though do have 77 beakers per turn at breakeven. In a position to whip a few courthouses and with currency/alpha/rep should be able to keep a reasonable rate for the moment.

Did you survive?

Yes... the Neighbours have been mostly friendly (I have not adopted a religion, which maybe is helping.)

Did you build any wonders?

Only one... I slung CS.

Were you able to trade any techs?

A couple... Nothing unusual.

Did I make it too easy?

Time will tell... The start was generous, but who knows what awaits us in the unrevealed parts of the map.

Have you driven on US HWY 101 on the Pacific Coast?

Nope... I have driven in California a few times, but always LA and to the south.

So, I started what I imagine will be quite popular, with settling on the stone, and worker first, teching agriculture... went for an early CS-sling which I got something around 1640BC, (I think that is the exact date).

Hatty surprised me by settling near the Pig quite early, so I got a little boxed in. Still, I managed to get 7 cities up, around the capital, and down the western edge, including down to the Sheep. Gem-site is reserved for Number 8, once I get Iron working and enough worker turns to get gems on line.

These 8 cities should form enough of a base for an effective breakout. I have Oxford up, and am making about 200 beakers per turn of sustainable research, so I expect to make it to Cannon's around turn 150. At that date, I would think 10 cannons and an appropriate amount of clean-up units/millitary police should allow me to efficiently sweep at least our starting continent, and maybe even an island or two. (The blue AI which starts with us (is it cyrus? my memory is failling me) has expanded onto an island, since I can see a bit of his culture to the NW of Gem-site.)

Seems I took the opposite approach from Jastrow, I got most wonders but the Oracle. Thought I had time for it still but no. Got Stonehenge, Pyramids, Great Lighthouse, Parthenon, Great Library. HG and Colossus are still open, didn't pursue them either yet. Expanded quite aggressively towards Hatty to get a maximum slice of land. At 1AD 12 cities, 11 on our starting continent and 1 on the huge island to the north west.

Impressed with Jastrow's Oxford up at 1AD. :goodjob: With representation and a lot of food around, I'm not too far behind though with bpt at break even of around 160. However, still a turn away from CS... :shifty::hmm:

Hatty and Cyrus are not very cooperative with trading, seems they only want to trade if they both have the same on offer. Since especially Cyrus is going slow, didn't get much out of them.

Too easy? Well, it certainly isn't hard so far... However, I do enjoy immortal with a nice start. Tough enough to keep it entertaining without having to be too precise about every detail, which allows to play more or less quickly (MGN trademark :p).

Yep I don't think I took my time to much either.. Vanilla micro for me mostly involves city governor on. Emphasise food, hammers gold and let them get on with it.. :)

That was a managable Immortal game so far. :-)
The good start was helpful, but I think that it is such easy so far, is also because Cyrus and Hatty don't have much space to expand and so keep modest.

Settled on the marble, because I already envisaged the plains hill beside the corn and the floodplains for the second city. There are so many good tiles that I found it quite difficult to decide on city placement.

At 1AD I have 7 cities with 47 pop. I didn't settle the sheep yet, because of maintenance - got currency only recently. I got to machinery, CoL, Currency, and Construction so far, 9 turns to CS.

I traded only fishing, archery and one other thing (forgot which one). But I will be able to trade calendar with Cyrus in two turns when my newest city has popped borders by Stonehenge.

Met Hatty and Cyrus so far, both are weak, though Cyrus is slightly ahead in gold.
Hatty has settled early at the Pigs and recently at the Sheep. She is welcome at the sheep, I can get that city later. ;-) But the pigs with associated iron will be my first goal. I am going to declare to Hatty in about two turns with cats and crossbows. Will get maces during that war.

Wonders: Stonehenge, Pyramids, Oracle, Colossus, Parthenon, GLib and HG. I was beaten with the Great Lighthouse by an unknown civ.

I think, Bismarck isn't too bad: Granaries and forges at half their costs are quite okay, and with representation 3 extra health come in handy.

I never drove by car through the US.
