Well, with the game being played at deity, its a pretty short list of awards this month.... we only had one person who was victorious!

So congratulations to Thorrez: A great effort!

Congratulations, and thanks, to everyone who submitted a game this month though. We had 83 submissions, despite the difficulty. Its great to see people giving it a go, without worrying about whether they won or not.

I am still so bummed that I lost my capital to a stupid barbarian archer with a 4% chance. :(

Congratulations to Thorrez. I hope to be up there with you, the next time.

Congrats to Thorrez! It's quite nice to win the gold medal and 3 awards at one time.:D

And I won my earliest peaceful loss award! Seems not something to brag about though.;)

Congratulations to the staff for a great game. And congratulations to the winners... I mean, to Thorrez The Great!

Sounds good. :) Hopefully I'll be able to finish at least one of them. Harder games are more fun, but they also take more time then usual, and so far I failed to complete both the imoortal and the deity GOTMs due to lack of time. :( Maybe next time we should give 1.5 month like we did for the large map and marathon games?

hm...the diety game was one of the fastest games I've played lol

The only faster ones I've played are the ones where I won the red ambulance or came very close to it.

Congrats again to Thorrez! And to B_A_V and Dumpfbacke as well, our other medalists. :)

A couple of things I found interesting in the results: Four people suffered a Diplomatic loss. Only two games made it into the 1800s.

Thanks as always to the admins!

Not sure. I guess we should aim for one every 4 months or so (between warlords & vanilla).

Hmm. Am I right in suspecting that deity on Warlords is likely to be substantially harder than deity on Vanilla (due to the more intelligent AI)?

No culturial victories. I wonder if that should be a lesson learned for future diety game strategies that is when the Pryamids can't be built.

Wish Godotnut had played the game or would comment.

Just read Godotnut's post that he's taking a Civ LOA to work on a Phd dissertation. Says he went for a Quecha rush ... I don't think cultural was possible for this one.

No culturial victories
Duh, weally?
I'll tell you more:
No conquest victories
No domination victories
No spaceship victories
No time victories
:D

Out of interest, how did you know the chance? I've never figured out how to get the game to show me the odds if I'm defending - only if I'm attacking.

I learnt a lot despite being thrashed. I'm not averse to another Deity gae sometime.

The practice of coupling a warlords game with a vanillla game and taking the best result for a player each month can skew things a bit - like WOTM 5 and GOTM 15 being together. There's not too many on that list who have GOTM 15 as their best result. As one of those who has not bought Warlords, I don't have a choice. However this is not a complaint because no doubt there will be "swings and roundabouts" and there will be a WOTM of much greater difficulty than the equivalent GOTM I suppose. And yes, I could go buy Warlords ;)

I definitely think cultural was possible. The timeline for the spaceship losses seems to give enough time. Of course, cultural deity wins always require some luck (the diplomatic elements can twist against you in ways that are not always controllable).
