GOTM 24 Results & Congratulations

What is the policy on submitting a legally played game, finished before the close of the competition, but not submitted by the deadline? I assume it's not allowed, but on the off chance it is ...

Thanks to Ainwood for accepting my game! It was my first GOTM and a lot of fun. Wish I had time to take more notes and writeups for the forums, but RL doesn't leave me much time these days.

I scored 5206 and had a spaceship loss to India in 1948. Interestingly, I had the longest time played with a loss at 37:02 and the 2nd highest final score with a loss. I was determined to finish the game even though I knew in the late 1800's I would not win. I always forget how long the end of the game takes when you're at war.

Anyway, I might have pulled off a win, but the Saudi's got Artillery just as I was attacking their holy city (bagdad, it think) and massacred my troops. My plan was to use their holy city to fund a late game surge of spending, but I underestimated how long it would take. Once they had artillery, I should have abbandoned the plan, but didn't. I ended up taking out all the Saudi cities on the mainland, but was way behind in tech.

WOW lol im new to the game and i am amazed by your guys work like 1853 AD Spaceship Victory, lol my space victory comes in like 2060 and im happy LOL. and seeing all of those high scores makes me cry, because of my lack of game skill, congrats to all

Thanks! Now, don't get me wrong, but I'm equally amazed by your very late Spaceship Victory! How on earth did you keep the AI on the ground? You must have been fighting a lot!? And then a Domination victory would have been close at hand, yes? So, you should be happy as you state, nothing to feel ashamed of

Anyway, welcome to this community! We have all been new once, and I still remember my astonishment when I first compared my (in my eyes) successful games with the people who actually knew how to play this game Just try to absorb as much as possible from the spoilers and you will eventually start to impress newcomers as well

I went back to the actual list of submitted games, it looks like i dreamnt submitting my game. That is unfortunate.

I did that in GOTM23...twas a shame, I was only 12 turns behind the fastest diplo that game
