For exemple, when the GOTM 9 will be ready for download ?

Thanks for your reply.

I don't care about the type of game (map, difficulty level and all the staff)... I'm so happy to play this kind of game that all the kind of map will be OK. I'm sure you will find something interresting to play !

The GOTM is a great idea. Hope, the GOTM will exist too with Civ III.

I don't know, small and high level? Would be too much for me I think. But hey, we'll see on October 1st what settings are chosen.

With the focus of playing time, it might be a good idea for someone who knows how to make a game play well to use a medium to large map (4,000 to 8,000 cells), but limit the land mass so as to limit excessive irrigation, farmland, etc. The land cells would be edited down to about 800, including the polar caps. Well, actaully, i'd eliminate most of them, too. The game would likely have a naval aspect to it.

I'm going on WE in the South of France: I will be cut from internet for the WE.
I'm looking forward to see that you have prepared for us on Monday for the GOTM 9.

You will do fine, even at deity. So many people are worried about deity, until they try it with the proper techniques. Deity is more of a "happiness"-centric early game, but once that is under control, all is well. You have to prioritize some things, and especially your choice of wonders. :) If you get stuck, just stop and ask on the GOTM forum before getting into "bad" trouble. Besides, GOTM 9 may not even be a Deity ;).

well, i tried deity once when i was just beginning, but there were so many disorders that i was just messed up and decided to move up step by step learning different strategies
and what are the black citizens?

Until you get "familiar" with the limits at deity, just make happiness job#1. Not exploring. Not waging war on 26 continents. Not getting into early republic. Just look at the wall chart, and your path of early existance should be at the bottom, after you get to Monarchy first. Do not detour, do not pass go, do not bend over and pick up $200. Get Monarchy, then get to Monotheism... directly along the way will be writing and Philosophy. When you can't make progress, work on Astronomy and/or Trade.

Build them happiness wonders, esp MC. Skip Oracle, since you should be going to Theology quickly.

Once you get to Democracy, either get into Democracy, or if you're panicked, build the SOL and stagnate awhile... but at least the empire will be content. After that, feel free to go forth and whoop some AI tail... whatever strategy you do at lower levels should work out approximately the same.

EASY!

(once you get to Democracy/Commie/Fundy with MC/JSB)

that is basically my strategy in my game, i don't really explore because i just don't have time and any units the waste. I'm a peacful nation most of the time, especially early in the game i just concentrate on defense. I should probably organize the techs i get because sometimes on my tech tree it is all out of place, chivalry and automobile will be on the same page! i should probably go for theology, monothesism quicker than i usually do.
