"Seven Walls" Scenario by AliArdavan
Four submissions, Ali_Ardavan shows the way on his own composition and Peaster is the only win by conquest.

GotM #116 - November 2010
- Prince - Normal - Babylonians - 4 Civilizations - Flat - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off -
Special condition of building only one wonder apart from Apollo

- Deity - Large - Babylonians - 7 Civilizations - Round - Villages Only - Restarts On -
Special condition of fully irrigating the starting island before venturing abroad
Seven submissions

GotM #118 - January 2011
- Warlord - 100x100 known - French - 7 Civilizations - Round - Villages Only - Restarts Off -
The Labyrinth - special map
Many cities built on mountains
Jokemaster wins this, with Magic_Gorter taking green star. Inkerman's first game; getting 7th of the 7 submissions needing 100 extra turns.

GotM #119 - February 2011
- King - 100x100 - Spanish - 7 Civilizations - Round - Roving Bands - Restarts On -
Normal game with a great starting position and lots of good terrain
The spoiler discusses how the ICS style combined with a science city can be used to reach very high scores, reaching game boundaries on cities, trade, future techs.
A popular game despite its size, mackerel takes a first gold star, with Peaster getting his 34th green star.

GotM #120 - March 2011
- Emperor - 35x35 - Americans - 6 Civilizations - Flat - Restless Tribes - Restarts Off -
Spaceship Victory only, on this very small map.
This small and interesting map allowed the game to be played in less time than is usually the case and this was well-received, but no EC option perhaps discouraged some.
AliArdavan describes and shows practical application of initial map analysis in the game thread.
...and then, fittingly, he collects the gold and green stars. Meanwhile Major-Advantage completes an OCC, and Magic-Gorter collects blue. Inkerman, Ksiaze, and Rimon also complete.

GotM #121 - April 2011
- King - Special 250x40 - English - 7 Civilizations - Flat - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off - No huts -
"Sherwood Forest" - the map is largely forest
Very active spoiler on this thought-provoking map, including starlifter (ten years membership and well past 4000 posts.)
...and then, fittingly, his Power Democracy collects the gold and green stars. There are 7 submissions in all.

GotM 122 - May 2011
- Deity - Normal - Sioux - 5 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts Off -
Accelerated start 1950 BC
Lots of thoughts and meticulous logs from starlifter in the spoiler, prompting discussion around PD (Power Democracy.)
11 submissions, and starlifter's later game labour intensive PD comes out clearly on top in GotM score. Peaster takes green.

GotM #123 - June 2011
- Prince - Small - Romans - 7 Civilizations - Round - Roving Bands - Restarts Off -
Win by conquest
The spoiler suggests an early AD win or maybe even a BC finish will be the norm.
10 submissions, with Major_Advantage top in GotM score. Not all speedy finishes, but once again Peaster takes green, proudly scoring under 50, with other quick games from grigor and haleewud.

GotM #124 - July 2011
- Emperor - Large - Zulus - 3 Civilizations - Flat - Villages Only - Restarts On -
Normal game
The game thread spills onto a second page as the significance of only three civs on a large map is absorbed.
11 submissions. Win and green star (by spaceship from a power democracy) for mackerel.

GotM #125 - August 2011
- King - Large - Vikings - 7 Civilizations - Flat - Raging Hordes - Restarts On -
Challenge to deliver three cargoes to each of your four cities, one from each other. Several restrictions.
The effect of the restrictions is effectively to make the game tradeless except for achieving the victory conditions.
Professor Garfield wins / takes green.

GotM #126 - September 2011
- Deity - Special, revealed - Mongols - 7 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On -
The Power of 2 composition by Ali Ardavan.
AliArdavan wins. Peaster takes second and green. Inkerman takes third and blue.

GotM #127 - October 2011
- Prince - Small - Egyptians - 4 civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts Off
Normal rules.
The spoiler discusses using "EC" to finish "BC" and several players do that.
Five submissions and each get one of the five medals/stars. Green goes to grigor and the win to MajorAdvantage.

GotM #128 - November 2011
- Emperor - Normal - Chinese - 7 civilizations - Round - Villages Only - Restarts On
There is a block of 25 pollution on a remote island, causing the icecaps to melt every so often.
Five submissions and each get one of the five medals/stars. Green goes to Ali_Ardavan for only the second time (he does have 15 golds!), and the win, for the second month running, is MajorAdvantage's.
grigor builds a spaceship for second.

GotM #129 - December 2011
- King - Normal, Mediterranean - Carthaginians - 7 civilizations - Round - Villages Only - Restarts On
Start position in north-east Africa.
Relatively popular game with a grassy map and modest difficulty level allowing 30+ cities by 1AD.
Six entries so not everyone can get a medal/star this month. There are four conquests and two spaceships. Inkerman's conquest game cedes green to Peaster by a couple of turns, but picks up the gold. Silver goes to Major_Advantage, Bronze to Ali with a spaceship, Blue to mercurios, and grigor is the one to miss out on a medal or star.

GotM #130 - January 2012
- Warlord - Normal - Indians (Indira) - 6 civilizations - Round - Villages Only - Restarts Off
OCC (One City Challenge) - either spaceship or conquest, but you may have no more than one city
The spoiler tells of several choices of start location.
As last month six entries so not everyone can get a medal/star, except that being OCC everyone gets credit anyway. This time our friend missing out is Magic_Gorter, as Ali_Ardavan wins with a pre-1000 landing. The green star goes to Uruwashi for a rapid OCC Conquest, the Blue to Inkerman's long game, and second and third are Major-Advantage and haleewud.

GotM #131 - February 2012
- Emperor - 64x64 Special - Indians (Ashoka) - 7 civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts Off
Limited accelerated start, a city is already settled, the AI has built Marco Polo, some of the map is revealed...
and hut outcomes may be replayed (composed by Inkerman.)

The spoiler reports successes for spaceship and late conquest approaches.
A narrow win for Ali_Ardavan's 1691 spaceship over Major_Advantage's 1420 conquest with haleewud third. Meanwhile mercurios takes another blue star.

GotM #132 - March 2012
- Deity - 75x 120 Large - Russians - 3 civilizations - Flat - Roving Bands - Restarts On
Potentially quite a long game with few civs and a large map
Quite a lengthy spoiler as a large map, three civ game is not so familiar to the regulars. Interesting comparative statistics are submitted.
Meanwhile mercurios takes another blue star. Four others play to a spaceship, with the win going to the last to launch.

GotM #133 - April 2012
- Chieftain - 40 x 50 - Japanese - 5 civilizations - Flat - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off
Accelerated start (7 techs), two cities already settled, and victory by conquest required.
The game thread discusses a few points about chieftain level, which is not such a common experience here.
The spoiler suggest most players went for a quick game, nobody (usual suspects present) reporting beyond 1500BC.
With 6 submissions in all, it's Major_Advantage's fourth-fastest conquest that takes the win, from haleewud's green star game. Unusually mercurios enters and doesn't take blue - as X_The_Magnifice plays on for a couple of hundred turns longer.

GotM 134 - May 2012
- Prince - Normal 50x80 - Germans - 4 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On -
Victory by conquest or spaceship
A quite quiet spoiler for this - it seems to have been played through to conquest or OCC landing.
Submissions from Major_Advantage, Inkerman, haleewud, mercurios and Al_Ardavan, and everyone is rewarded with a medal. Major_Advantage takes two with gold for the win and green for fastest finish. Ali gets red for OCC. Normality is restored on the blue as mercurios takes it for the 46th time.

GotM 135 - June 2012
- Deity - Special 100x100 Known - English - 7 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On -
Special: "The Pentagon" - with mandatory OCC requirement
Some players finding this quite challenging in the face of a strong (and cheating) AI civ. See GotM 137 for same situation without OCC.
The spoiler suggests there may not be many successful games. In fact, just one. Gold to Ali Ardavan.

GotM 136 - July & August 2012
- Warlord - Special - Celts - 4 Civilizations - Round - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off -
Victory by conquest. All techs discovered, lots of global warming and nuclear devastation in the starting position. Based on 10-year game of Lycerius (try Google!)
A busy spoiler thread, most players taking a similar approach and having good success quickly, with rapid conquests of large but poorly managed opposition. Discussion of managing large engineer teams.
The spoiler develops a good story to a possibly surprising conclusion... many congratulations to haleewud, winner of the green star. Nine entries in all, with Ali_Ardavan taking gold and mercurios once again winning blue.

GotM 137 - September 2012
- Deity - Special 100x100 Known - English - 7 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On -
Special: "The Pentagon" - without mandatory OCC requirement
See also GotM135 (same start position.)
A variety of approaches are tried, with EC and early republic experiments accompanying a more usual growth strategy. Come scoring time, amongst the six entries it is the two players who registered on the OCC version 135, who miss out. The win goes to Major_Advantage, the silver to haleewud, the bronze and green to Peaster, and the blue to....mercurios.

GotM 138 - October 2012
- Deity - Special 75 x 120 Known - Egyptians - 7 Civilizations - Flat - No barbs - Restarts Off - 240 turns
Scenario: "Ellingsworth Archipelago" - designed to highlight modern naval warfare.
Uses scenario scoring based on objectives.
Ali_Ardavan and Professor Garfield share the spoils..

GotM 139: November 2012
- Chieftain - Aztec - Respawn on - Map: special 250 x 40, Flat - Spaceship or Conquest
A couple of less familiar names in Nicol.Bolas and Blasph23 in the spoiler, and a few more familiar ones talking of a BC conquest and a 1AD spaceship launch.
Blasph23 is pipped for the bronze, meanwhile Ali_Ardavan takes silver and green with a BC EC, and haleewud takes gold with a max spaceship landing in 12AD.

December 2012, January 2013 - no game

GotM 140: February 2013
- Persians - King - Restless Tribes - Respawn on - Normal Map: Round - Spaceship or Conquest
Main theme of the spoiler is speed of development to a spaceship, with zenon returning after 8 years to show how it's done, with some useful arithmetic on choice of SSC location.
There's a relatively high turnout of 8 submissions. As zenon expected. a quick, fast, light spaceship is only good for the green, with full spaceships taking gold, silver and bronze. Major Advantage it is who takes the gold. Ali wins the blue.

GotM 141: March 2013
- Persians - Emperor - Roving Bands (-25) - Respawn on - Small map (40x50): Round - 3 AI civ's - spaceship or conquest
Spoiler contains usual logs, and less usual gentle discussion such as of when and why to abandon a game.
Inkerman's full spaceship wins, with Ali's slightly smaller one second and haleewud's early AD conquest taking green.

GotM 142: April 2013
"Crowded Europe" - Swiss/Sioux - Emperor - Roving Bands (-25) - Respawn on - Known medium map: Round - 6 AI civ's - spaceship or conquest
Special rule: first hut must be replayed so that it is 50g.
Some EC games, and an entertaining account by Ali of his most edge-of-the-seat OCC game ever (and he has played a lot of OCC.)
Five entries, five stars. Ali's is the only OCC (red). Major_Advantage's spaceship is gold, haleewud's conquest green, Inkerman's conquest silver and mercurios' spaceship blue.

GotM 143 - May 2013
- Emperor - Special (World) 91x120 Known - Blue(Inca) - 7 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Long games. Reasonably active spoiler thread discussing how to cope with the terrain.
Inkerman thanks the Incan hut gods.

GotM 144 - June 2013
- Emperor - Large (75x120) game-generated map - Babylonians - 7 Civilizations - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts Off
Starting techs: Alphabet and Bronze.
With restarts off most players go for a conquest, but because of the size it is not so "early".
Magic_Gorter, in his first game for some time, is one player going for the stars and takes the blue. Amongst the conquerors, Ali gets the best score and takes gold, and Inkerman is quickest.

GotM 145 - July 2013
- Deity - Special 40x50 Known - Blue (French) - 7 Civilizations - Round - Villages Only - Restarts On
Starting Techs: None
Mandatory OCC, either spaceship or conquest. Expected city site has 4 specials: whale, wine, oasis, and gold. The rest of the city radius is covered by one forest, grasslands, and ocean. All land pieces have a river through them. Oceans allow access to open waters both on east and west.
The spoiler, with Major Advantage, haleewud and Inkerman contributing, suggests that this game is unusual in being determined more by later game choices rather than by earlier game ones.
All submissions are for spaceship. Major_Advantage deprives Starlifter of green, but not gold and blue.

GotM 146 - August 2013
- Deity - Medium World Map 50x80 Known - Vikings - 7 Civilizations - Round - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off
Starting Techs: 3, Alphabet, Burial, and Bronze. Start Location: New Zealand.
Players are not allowed to ever own a city on the following land masses: 1 (Americas), 6 (Africa, Europe, Asia including Japan), 10 (Britain).
First use of YouTube for spoiler!
Ali_Ardavan takes blue and Major_Advantage takes green.

GotM147 - September 2013
- Emperor - 25 x 40 (smallest possible) game generated map - Mongols - 7 players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Civilization: 2 Mongol settlers
Starting techs: Bronze Working
Different choices at the start, but all those posting go for conquest so it plays relatively quickly.
Five core players with a win taken by Major_Advantage.

GotM148 - "Dreyna" October 2013
- Emperor - 30 x 70 artificial - Russians - 7 players - Flat - "Barbarian Wrath" - Restarts Off
Starting techs: Ceremonial Burial
Player starts in a central position in a large swamp, in a land liable to some very large barbarian appearances.
Inkerman shows how not to play this; fortunately others step in with advice for conquest and spaceship players.
Gold to Ali, green to Peaster.

GotM149 - November 2013
- Emperor - 90 x 90 artificial, known - Russians - 7 players - Flat - Roving Bands - Restarts On
Starting techs: Bronze Working, Warrior Code, Horseback Riding
Differing approaches by all , and at least one switches mid-stream from conquest to spaceship.
Welcome to littlejimmy, as 6 players submit, and Inkerman's mid-stream change brings home the bacon.

GotM150 "Rivered Straits" - December 2013
- Emperor - 40 x 250 custom, known - Russians - 7 players - Flat - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Starting techs: None
The world consists of one land piece which is mostly glacier and mountains. In between the two there is a river running on a strip of fertile land that runs from the South pole to the North pole. Human player, playing Russians, starts near the South pole. AI rivals start near the North pole. The strip is 5 tiles thick near the South and North poles and 1 tile thick in between.
Inkerman and haleewud forgo initial settlement and pop huts at least until the techs run out, whilst Ali founds a city and Major Advantage says he has pretty much messed it up.
Green to haleewud, gold and blue to Inkerman.

GotM151 "Wonder Race" - January 2014
- Deity - 75 x 120, game generated - Greeks - 7 players - Flat - Raging Hordes - Restarts n/a
Starting techs: None
Game aim is to own the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World.
Littlejimmy, Prof Garfield, haleewud and Major-Advantage make the early running in the spoiler, and have a range of experiences with an unfamiliar task.
The Professor exploits luck with huts to solve the puzzle he sets.

GotM152 February 2014
- King - 50 x 80 game generated - German - unknown number of players - Flat - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Starting techs: None
Standard game.
Visit from A-lister Tim the Enchanter (whose suggestion it was that we have GotMs). He goes for conquest, as do Peaster and Inkerman, comparing notes with contrasting "light" and "heavy" approaches. Major_Advantage and Ali_Ardavan compare progress to spaceships.
Ali wins overall with a spaceship. Peaster pips Inkerman to green by a single turn, and is in turn pipped by the Major to bronze by less than a point. Not that Peaster worries about his score, unless that is it gets too big.

GotM153 March 2014
- King - 40 x 50 small world (known) - Mongol - 7 players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Starting techs: Bronze Working
Standard game on known map.
Again we see both spaceship and conquest approaches.
Inkerman does take the green this time, from haleewud - there is no game from Peaster. Meanwhile in games of similar duration Ali's spaceship outscores the Major's conquest. And mercurios takes the blue.

GotM154 April 2014
- Emperor - 50 x 60 - Americans - 5 players - Round - Roving Bands - Restarts On
Starting techs: Alphabet, Code of Laws, Masonry
Standard game on game generated archipelago.
The favourable setup, and other circumstances, cause some regulars to choose OCC. Seems to be a tendency, amongst OCC and non-OCC, for players to think they should do a bit better than they actually do given the circumstances, but it seems nobody has any real difficulty getting to an ending.
Ali and haleewud complete OCC spaceships. Major Advantage takes green and gold with a 580AD conquest, and Inkerman this time takes blue - there is no game from mercurios.

Thread with description of games 1-39
(the original Index by Duke of Marlborough.)

No longer a key thread, but if you've come here you may get value from it - DoM wrote imaginative text to introduce each of these earlier GotMs.

GotM155 - May 2014
- Emperor - 50 x 80 (normal) game generated map - Spanish - Unknown players - Round - Raging Hordes - Restarts On
Civilization: 2 Mongol settlers
Starting techs: None
Special condition - player may not build wonders.
All playing for conquest with some gentle debate as to which wonder is missed most.
Our five regular players all take this challenge and are joined by TheViking. Green is taken by haleewud, from Major Advantage. Inkerman takes gold by dint of playing longer than others, except for ... mercurios, who achieves his usual result. The blue star once again goes to a spaceship landing from a fully developed world, nut this time without building any wonders.

GotM156 - June 2014
- Emperor - 71 x 140 known artificial spiral - Babylonian - 7 players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Civilization: 1 settler
Starting techs: Alphabet, Code of Laws, Pottery
Spaceship and conquest are attempted.
Win to Ali, blue to haleewud, green to grigor, and Major_Advantage completes OCC.

GotM157 - July 2014
- Emperor - 50 x 80 game generated - Babylonian - 3 players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts Off
Civilization: 1 settler
Starting techs: Alphabet, Code of Laws, Ceremonial Burial
The usual suspects appear and complete both conquest and spaceship (plus near conquest). They discuss start tactics and which wonders to take in a game with few AI players.
A first blue for Major_Advantage (there's no game from mercurios) accompanies the win, with Inkerman and haleewud, who gets green, taking the places.

GotM158 - August 1914 - August 2014
- Diety - Kaiser scenario - requires MGE - Central Powers
In commemoration of the outbreak of the First World War, 100 years ago.
See also the game thread for comments. Inkerman thinks the scenario looks brilliant and is amazed by the colour of the customization involved, but is a bit disappointed with his play.
Three platyers send files, with the win and green to Ali_Ardavan and silver and blue to haleewud.

GotM159 - World War II - September 2014
- Diety - The World War II scenario that shipped with the game - Allies
In commemoration of the outbreak of the Second World War in Europe, 75 years ago.
The spoiler shows scenario expert Professor Garfield leading the way on this.
Indeed Professor Garfield takes the win and green.

(October 2014 - no game)

GotM160 - November 2014
- Emperor - 50 x 80 game generated - Egyptian - 6 players (no purple) - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
The regulars all contribute to the spoiler but the outcome is unclear. Major Advantage finds that he takes things in a different order.
And it is haleewud who takes this one with a spaceship trumping the earlyish conquests of Major_Advantage (silver), Ali_Ardavan (bronze) and Inkerman (green.) haleewud also comfortably takes the blue of course.

GotM161 - December 2014
- Emperor - Very very large (144x227), known map of the world by Yagoda -Sioux - 7 players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
All is revealed in the spoiler.
Ali_Ardavan takes blue and gold, and Major_Advantage silver and green. haleewud submts the only conquest game for the bronze.

GotM162 - January 2015
- Deity - Very very small (20x50), known artificial map - Indian - 4 players - Flat - Roving Bands - Restarts On
Spaceship, conquest and OCC are all in the mix.
Ali_Ardavan takes gold and blue; the latter despite Major_Advantage having more citizens. The OCC is from Inkerman, and haleewud pips grigor to green.

GotM163 - February 2015
- King - 50x60 game-generated map - Chinese - 5 players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Blasph23 and catalin72 join for a discussion of styles. Blasph plays more in a style familiar to the regulars - in this case with an EC theme, whilst catalin looks to the mercurios style of big game. There is a discussion of map analysis and finding hidden specials. grigor joins in with tale of a rapid EC. And then Peaster joins in too, and the Peaster/grigor discussion on aspects of EC is, as usual, of a high standard.
A win for haleewud ensues, with, er Peaster taking green, and hello catalin72 taking the blue.

GotM164 - The Rise of Rome- March 2015
- Emperor - 50x80 revealed map - Rome scenario shipped with game - Rome - 7 players - Flat
Spoiler includes logs from Ali, the Major and grigor.
Prizes all round, with the win and a blue ("my first for about 15 years") to grigor.

GotM165 - April 2015
- King - 60x100 game generated map - Americans - 7 players - Round - Roving Bands - Restarts Off
Several players and differing games. Welcome back Uruwashi. Spoiler includes some discussion about which early wonders to choose. And Peaster and grigor discuss how much to tax in an early conquest game.
haleewud takes the Blue and the Gold!.

GotM166 - May 2015
- Emperor - 40x50 game generated map - Carthaginians - 4 players - Round - Raging Hordes - Restarts On
Yeah, Magic starts the spoiler thread, finding time to play a conquest game. Inkerman, haleewud, Peaster and grigor likewise. Major plays an expansionist game. And Peaster describes a way of (sometimes) finding out how many defenders are in a city - to the general amazement of even the other veteran players. Also interesting comments about the value of archers from grigor.
A very pleasing seven submissions, with Major_Advantage taking Blue & Gold, and some further comments in the game thread ensue.

GotM167 - The First World War - June 2015
- Deity - Jim Panse scenario requiring MGE
Initially a rather thin spoiler, but as a long game unfolds Jokemaster and Ali fill a few pages! But it does suggest, even allowing our relaxed approach, that not too many people may be picking up this challenge.
Indeed it is just Ali and Jokemaster playing, and splitting the honours.

GotM168 - July 2015
- Emperor - 40x50 game generated map - Spanish - 5 players - Round - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off
Recommended spoiler! How to get a high score, at least on a map like this. And how the current GotM compares with the early days of GotM.
Major_Advantage's spaceship takes gold, and Peaster collects another green.

(Civ Fanatics changes server at this juncture.)

GotM169 - Red Cloud - August 2015
- Deity - 75x120 known map - Sioux - 7 players - Flat - Barbarian Wrath - Restarts On
Another thin spoiler suggesting most players are sitting this one out, perhaps because of its potential demands on real time. There are moans about the terrain, but with an open map that can be negotiated. The game goes in unfamiliar directions for most, and players are eventually happy. The wrath is seen but has little impact.
Grigor takes green and gold in a field of 5.

GotM170 - September 2015
- Emperor - 100x100 map - English - 3 players - Round - Villages only - Restarts Off - No huts - Scenario (no tech hiding)
Initially it was a sparse spoiler, as players took time to come to grips with this big one. But as time went on, Major Advantage, Jokemaster and Inkerman supplied logs that make for interesting comparisons - perhaps more so than usual as the game is barbarian and hut free. But undoubtedly this one makes makes big demands on real time.
A splendid seven entries, with a win for Major Advantage, and a green star for lasingularidad.

GotM171 - October 2015
- Emperor - 25x40 map - Chinese - 7 players - Round - Roving Bands - Restarts On
A conquest theme to the spoiler this month, and our imperfect understanding of re-spawns again prompts comments. The spoiler is started by new player lasingularidad (edit: although it does seem now that in the previous game a green star was achieved.) WildPony joins in, and with a variety of approaches discussed by familiar names (some of them very late in the game's life) the result is a discussion touching on last turn logic. Ali goes for OCC.
Ali cannot remember a previous occasion that OCC wins blue! In the more common early conquest the Major shades grigor by a single turn.

GotM172 - November 2015
- Emperor - 25x40 custom map - English - 7 players - Flat - Villages only - Restarts On
A couple of active players explain why they started the game but are not submitting.
Ali takes gold and blue.

GotM173 - December 2015
- Deity - 50x80 game generated map - German - ? players - Round - Restless Tribes - Restarts On
Several regulars post their logs playing normal games in their usual styles, which are fairly similar, and so compare the effect of hut luck and detail differences. And an OCC log too.
Game has been scored, but results may not be easy to find until the main site migration is complete. Anyway, there were six entries, the Major won and Ali did an OCC.

GotM174 - Hexagon - January 2016
- Emperor - 20x60 known map - Roman - 7 players - Round - Villages only - Restarts On
The world consists of one hexagon shaped continent and 2 small islands near the poles. The Romans are located at the center of the hexagon. The other 6 rivals each start at the center of an edge of the hexagon. The entire map is very hospitable. The 6 rivals are chosen to be Perfectionist first and Rational second. Special rules: 1. You cannot walk into an undefended rival capital should you have the chance. Of course, it is OK to do so after you kill a defender. 2. You get to choose the best of 3 outcomes for your first 3 huts. Each time save after you tip the hut. Then choose the best of the 3 saves and move on.
Logs from Jokemaster, lasingularidad, Major Advantage (playing OCC), Ali Ardavan, and (eventually) Inkerman and haleewud. Jokemaster and Ali, both playing for landing, have a discussion about different styles of spaceship game - earliest landing, full spaceship, or score maximisation.
Also some speculation in the spoiler about when a hut can provide a capital city.

Ali wins, from Jokemaster and haleewud, who takes the green with the only conquest. Major_ Advantage does OCC. Inkerman makes up the numbers.

catalin72 is first off the mark with the spoiler for this game, contributing a log, and is joined by Major Advantage, Jokemaster and CharlieChuck (high in the Hall of Fame, but away for long enough to forget various things) and later Ali Ardavan (OCC, for time reasons.)

There are 70-80 red barbarian cities already present but not visible.
In broad terms these are between the player and everyone else except the Mongols.

The spoiler starts alarmingly (for the composer) with news that "something very odd has happened" but fortunately the player recovers the situation. It seems from logs that the game does create some unfamiliar, but not too tricky, problems.
Grigor shows the way with an impressive green "one of my most enjoyable games". And Jokemaster amasses a considerable blue win.

- Deity - 75x120 game-generated map - Mongol - 7 players - Round - Raging Hordes - Restarts Off
1. You may not own more than 20 cities at any point in the game.
2. You get to choose the best of 2 outcomes for your first hut.

Lengthy spoiler as regulars "enjoy" the special condition of no more than 20 cities..
haleewud, Ali-Ardavan, Grigor and Jokemaster take part.
