Thank You for announcing me as winner of the Lowest Scoring Victory col (and thanks to you and Sulla for proposing the OCC approach to the GOTM; I really enjoyed this game!! )

I'm surprised I had the Lowest Scoring Victory. Next time I do OCC I might not build the Sistine Chapel - that'll add about 50 turns to the game and reduce the score appropriately. (However, in GOTM XI I'm playing a "typical" game.)

Congratulations to all who finished and submitted; there were a lot of you!!

Congrats to the winners and all of the players. I didn't submit though as I had to win or lose and I decided to give up. Now on GOTM XI, I submitted yesterday.

Cultural victory in 1150AD and only 1120pts.

It lokes like there is a typo either in the date or the score, as the bonus for early victory should be higher, shouldn't it?

BTW, if there is no mistake in date, a cultural victory in 1150AD is really impressive, I want to learn how to do it as all my cultural victory (both city and civ) happened around 1900.

BTW again, it looks like I was last (higher score - 605pts) in the low score challenge with my 'too early' 1906AD OCC cultural victory.

Ribannah finished the cultural victory in 1740AD, not in 1150AD, a small mistake. I am sure Matrix will fix it soon.

It was an OCC victory btw.

Christ, I thought I had a decent chance to get the Spaceship medal. LOL, not even close (off by 300 years). 1470AD, that is crazy!!

Still, first GOTM attempt and victory, I'm happy with my results!

Umm... why am I listed as having an 8000+ point spaceship victory? I played no such game in GOTM10! The only game I played and submitted was my 581 point OCC win. I certainly have no plans ever to milk a game to 2050 again - that's an utter waste of time. So... it looks like someone made a mistake somewhere in compiling the results. I'm touched that Matrix thinks I did so well, but trust me, I didn't play any such game.

Never crossed my mind for a moment.....

I was so inept that my low scoring game was too high despite unmilking to 2050....

Looks like its time for a middle scoring challenge - aka who can score what Col gets. Must be a medal for that.

Where did you get a copy of the game from?

Sulla, sorry about my comment above! Looks like they just posted your name beside someone else's game. [Although the 8000 points probably represents your achievement in the game you played, if the scoring system could rate efforts like that. ]

Thanks for that comment. I was able to do my game in one day, and apparently from the comments I hear around this site a number of people claim that my write-up is a "definitive OCC guide." Really? Well I seem to have gotten a number of other players to try something different in their games, and that was far more than I ever expected to do. So I rate my effort in GOTM10 as highly successful, and I don't mind the low score at all. I just hope that someone else didn't accidentally get left off the list with an 8000+ point game!
