Back, and lots of spoilers (and results!) to get out. How did your Deity China do? You were kind of in the thick of it in this game - one continent with all the Deity civs, and not off on a peninsula either, but right in the middle; how do you like this type of game?

490 AD and we start the Industrial age.
Techs missing Dem, Art, Nav, and Eco.

The hope here was to research and trade, trade and research all with peace love and harmony through out all the land. HA.

War and Territory
Early in this age I loose Oxford back to the English as the city flips. Offer a right of passage to them to cheer Liz up. That works, but then she goes and declares war on the Spanish. She gets some forces through my land, but I build a stockade around oxford and that makes it a short war. Spain only looses one city. I want Liz to spend time on research not war.

Can't build any more cities and lots of cavalry around. What to do? What to do?
Yup. You guessed it. Time to visit Japan. :ar15:
War starts in 970, ends in 1020. More land for more cities.
No more wars.....in this age.

Science
Gift all techs to all civs except Japan. They are so far behind it is funny.
Nope. No help at all, well, lots of cash to keep my sliders up.

Stats The year is 1260AD
Republic
Running 0. 10. 0 (1577 beakers per turn)
Gold 4248 + 126 gpt (getting 300gpt from "friends")
Cities 129
Land 962
Pop 936
units 227 (at no cost)

AI's 1 annoyed, 3 Furious

Domination win in 1754. I tripped the domination limit with the internet. I was going to for a space ship launch. The game was over around 1400 AD but i was trying to milk the game.

Firaxis Score: 7607, Jason Score: 7432. I had to play the final turn twice because my computer crashed (again).

I didn't have much trouble after Spain fell. Japan turned on me in 1380-1385 IBT. I destroy Japan by 1430 AD. France had declared in 1365 AD - 1370AD IBT. I banish them to a 1 tile island in 1470 AD though I miss a landing and they take London (and smiths) and Shanghai 2 for 1 turn. I make peace with 1 island France in 1510 AD. Declare on America in 1450 AD. Swap to Democracy with an 8 turn anarchy in 1490-1530 AD. America is finished by 1500 AD, I gift them a desert city and banish them to that single city in the 1600-1605 AD war.

This was a game of resource denial. Though America/Japan/France could have hooked up coal none of them even tried. After denying them salt, they fell pretty easy. They also didn't hook up rubber, so the strongest units I faced at the end were Riflles and Guerillas.

Turn Log
Spoiler :
IBT – kill 2 MDI and 1 LB on the defense, lose 1 cav.
780 AD – GL - choice between Newtons & Army. Need an army for the current campaign. Road connects to Oxford and gems. That’s my 6th local luxury. Cav army plugs land bridge into old English lands. Kill a bunch of other units, no losses.
IBT – I lose my Cav army to a MDI army!
790 AD – I kill their army in turn. Kill a bunch of other units including 3 fresh cavs. No loses.
IBT – Japan is flooding Cav into Spain proper. Good for them! They take Cas de something or other and secure another point on the map for me.
830 AD – setting up to take back New Nanking. Also advance 8 cav to take Coventry. I buy America back into the war against Spain for incense & 60gp. Give Japan ToG for WM, 1gpt & 79gp – all they have. I see America has Nationalism – Spain doesn’t have it yet. Checked F8 and I am the leader – 1716 China, 1608 France, 1603 America, 1522 Spain. I’m up-to-date on techs, steam in 6t. Only missing Ivory (Old England) and furs – I’m putting cultural pressure on Yokohama to steal the fur there. After steam, head straight to ToE.
IBT – Japan and France sign peace. That’s won’t work. Lose 1 cav to a MDI. Japan mops up the offending MDI.
840 AD – I miss Pyongsong and it riots.
Coventry is now Chinese, 3 resisters – looks like there are no more Englishmen.
Battle for New Nanking – 4/4 cav vs 4/4 musket – flawless win. 4/4 cav vs 3/3 musket – flawless retreat. 4/4 cav vs 3/3 musket – lose, -1hp to musket but promotes. 5/5 cav vs 3/4 musket – flawless retreat. Stupid RNG.
IBT – movement, Spain tries to reinforce New Nanking but muskets are too far away. No units show up in Old England.
850 AD – I am ‘mass’ producing cavalry now. I will take Old England first. Bachs is in London and will make a fine addition to my collection of captured wonders.
New Nanking is again Chinese. Capture 3 workers. Japan is willing to go war against France for 5gp and my WM. Okay. Japan is back at war with Japan. France and Spain are isolated again.
IBT – Japan cleans up Spanish muskets around new Nanking. Thanks!
860 AD – battle for New Orleans – Capture city – 3 english workers and a cat. See a musket and cat 1 tile away. Not sure if they are coming or going. 5/5 cav vs 4/4 musket – win, -2 hp, capture cat. Move stack of 5 Cav on Brighton, attack next round planned.
IBT – no counter attack. Japan continues to invade Spain proper. Great – if they keep each other busy, I’ll clean up old England in no time ad then be able to turn into Spain proper in no time. Also, America has now set a protective umbrella around Japan, so the war with France is really an American/French war.
870 AD – I build about 5 cavs. Set for some cities to spin off a few workers for rails.
Battle for Brighton – Capture city, 3 english workers. 5/5 cav vs 3/3 musket by New Tsingtao – win, -3hp.
IBT – lone musket appears to cover hill with iron – hmm, yeah, I don’t need that. Thanks though.
880 AD – resistances in Coventry is over. 4 resisters left in Bigthon. Moving straight for London. I move 8 units on hill right outside London.
IBT – America sends 4 cav into my area – probably to get at spain? Musket moves closer to New Orleans, using the hill to cover. LB also shows up, but is not using musket for cover. Japan takes another Spanish city.
890 AD – Steam has arrived. I have 3 sources of Coal. I see that America has access to at least 2 sources of coal. I’m the only one with Steam, start on medicine in 11t. America will offer Dem, WM, 26gpt & 60gp. Will not give up nationalism. Japan doesn’t have nationalism to give. I decide to hold on to steam and let them work for it. Heading towards ToE. Start rails.
London falls, JS Bach is now mine! Also grab cat. Citizens are all English, so they don’t mind being Chinese now. Next target is Nottingham and that will end Spain’s access to horses. That means they will be back to LBs. 5/5 cav near New Orleans vs 3/3 LB – win, -2hp.
Rush 5 cav to Nottingham and find it defended by a 3/3 spear. Well, this should be a breeze. Park 5 cav outside the city.
IBT – America retreats units from my territory.
900 AD – Nottingham falls and spain no longer has horses. Capture 2 cats.
Resistance at Brighton is over. 5/5 cav vs. 3/3 LB – flawless and – GL! This is defiantly my round! Rush back to Brighton and build army.
IBT – spain drops 2 cavs next to Nottingham by boat. They are both 3/3 cavs – why don’t they have barracks? America invades again, but most move into Japanese lands.
910 AD – 5/5 cav vs 3/3 musket that finally steps onto flat ground – win, -1hp. 5/5 cav vs 3/3 cav – win, -3hp. 4/4 cav vs 3/3 cav – win but redline – see that Dover is also protected by spears.
IBT – musket moves towards New Orleans again. America retreats again. They are making me nervous now.
920 AD - Move Army & 4 cav next to Baltimore. Rush some worker/slaves. America has steam now.
Dover is now Chinese.
Basic rail system is in place.
Game crashes again – need to reload but only lose 1 turn of activity. Do the same steps again.
930 AD – Just realized that Baltimore is American. Don’t like that. Send units to Liverpool. Liverpool is destroyed.
Stage outside of warwick. Move lots of Cav into Old England. Last push. Also moving settlers into place to claim Ivory. Staging outside Hastings. See that Spain has rifles. That will make going a little tougher.
IBT – America sends more units through. LB near London.
940 AD – 5/5 cav vs 4/4 musket in the open- lose, -1hp to musket. 5/5 cav vs 3/4 musket – lose, -1hp, musket promotes. It seems my cav forgot how to retreat. 9/13 army vs 3/5 musket – win, -2hp. That was stupid. 5/5 cav vs 3/3 LB – flawless win.
Hastings is Chinese and happy.
Warwick is Chinese and happy.
Stage outside Newcastle.
Set up invasion of Spain proper – 13/13 cav army covering 5 vet cav next to Ciudad de la luna.
IBT – Spain and America sign a peace deal.
950 AD – Battle for Newcastle – 4/4 cav vs 3/3 musket – lose, -1hp to musket. 5/5 cav vs 2/3 musket – win, -2hp, reveal 3/3 spear. 4/4 cav vs 3/3 spear – flawless win. Spain is gone from Old England.
Battle for Ciudad de la Luna – which has a brand new 3/3 rifle. 13/13 army vs 3/3 rifle – win, -5hp. 4/4 cav vs 4/4 musket – win, -1hp. Cuidad falls and is now Chinese. 3 workers captured & 1 cannon.
IBT – spain and france drop troops by New Xinjian – a cav and a LB. Spain doesn’t have cav to spare and a French LB is just insulting.
960 AD – use all my captured arty to redline both invaders. My last 5/5 rider vs 1/4 LB – flawless win. 5/5 cav vs 1/3 cav – flawless win.
IBT – Spain drops a cav and a conquistador near New Xinjian. Man do they want that city.
970 AD – arty redlines invaders again. 5/5 cav vs 1/3 cav – flawless win. 5/5 Rider vs 1/3 conquistador – flawless win. Send cav army & 9 cav towards Murcia.
Rail network has all cities connected except extreme Old England. Workers starting to develop core. I start ToE prebuild.
IBT – Japan kills 3 muskets in Murcia and reveals a 2/2 rifle. Thanks for the hard work!
980 AD – Ivory is hooked up and I have my 7th home luxury. Only missing furs now. WLTKD all over the place.
Battle for Murcia – 13/13 army vs 2/2 rifle – win, -2hp. 5/5 cav vs 2/2 rifle – win, redlined. 4/4 cav vs 2/2 rifle – flawless retreat. 11/13 army vs 2/2 rifle – win, -4hp. Murica is now Chinese.
Cancel my deal with America for war against France, that means the are down 3 luxuries. America still hasn’t connected its coal. Give Japan medicine for democracy, WM & 1gp.
990 AD – stage outside of Santiago with 12/13 Army & 7 cav.
IBT – America is kicking France in the butt.
1000 AD – Seville is captured w/1 cannon.
Rush rails towards Seville – put 5 Cav in range of Madrid and put another army and 2 cav nearby. No sign of Japan. No rifles in Madrid yet, but that will change. Size 10 city on grassland.
IBT – Spain rushes units from Madrid towards Seville where Japan is fighting with them. That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but it is one less musket and cav that I’ll need to kill.
1010 AD – Madrid is still only showing Muskets. Reinforce at Madrid – I will attack next round.
IBT – out of stupidity I forget to protect a town and Spain destroys it. Japan avenges me by killing the cav that ransacked the city.
1020 AD – Madrid is now Chinese. Capture Leos.

Current ranking – China 2091, America 1757, France 1625, Spain 1551, Japan 952.

IBT – no counter attack, just some bombardment from the sea. Japan continues to send Cav towards northern spain.
1030 AD Salamanca is the new capital of Spain. Size 10 with rifles. Send Army w/11 cannons to soften them up. I put an army and 8 cav on the land bridge leading to Toledo to make sure I get Smiths. Japanese cav can soften up the rest.
Current ranking growth- China +25pt, America +7pt, France -1pt, Spain -4pt, Japan +3pt.
IBT – Japan is trying to take Barcelona.
1040 AD – cannons vs Salamanca – wound 3 rifles, -1 pop.
Current maintenance – 151gp.
Battle for Toledo – still has muskets, size 6 city on grass – 4/4 cav vs 4/4 musket – retreat, -1hp to musket. 4/4 cav vs 4/4 musket – retreat, -2hp to musket. 4/4 cav vs 4/4 musket – flawless defeat. 12/12 army vs 4/4 musket – win, -4hp. 8/12 army vs 3/3 musket – win, -2hp. 4/4 cav vs 3/4 musket – flawless win. 5/5 cav vs 2/4 musket – flawless win. 5/5 cav vs 3/3 LB – win, -2hp, GL. Toledo falls. Build Army, load with Cav. Maintenance drops to 112gpt. As I hve enough cav right now, I set all builds to banks.
IBT – France asks for peace – I tell them to stuff it because they won’t give me all their techs and gold. Japan is turned away at Barcelona.
1050 AD – America still hasn’t hooked up coal.
Cannons vs Salamanca – go 0/12 hits. Nice.
Feed some cav towards Valencia to see what’s going on – see a 3/3 rifle on top. 12/14 cav army vs 3/3 rifle – win, -4hp. 4/4 cav vs 4/4 musket – gamble payoff – win -2hp. 10/14 army vs 4/4 musket – win, -5hp. Valencia falls to china.
IBT –bombardment, nothing else.
1060 AD Cannons go 3/12 and kill one citizen. Need better arty.
1070 AD – Cannons go 2/12.
1080 AD - Cannons go 3/12 and kill one citizen. Move up armies to storm city. 13/13 army vs 3/3 rifle – win, -8hp. Grrr. Drop alliance with Japan against France.
1090 AD- Cannons go 1/12. 12/12 army vs 4/4 rifle – win, -6hp. 3/4 rifle on top. Decide to go for it. 4/4 cav vs 3/4 rifle – win, redlined. 4/4 cav vs 2/2 rifle – win, -1hp. 4/4 cav vs 2/2 rifle – win, redlined. Salamanca falls to China. Shakespeare belongs to china. Capture cannon. One city to go.
IBT – Japan fails to take Barcelona – all it has is muskets protecting it.
1100 AD – Barcelona is Chinese. Spain is gone. Start to marshal units for the American campaign.
Give America electricity for Nationalism, free artistry, WM & 42gp. I’ll be at war with them in a few rounds. Give Japan Nationalism for 23gpt & 2gp.
1170 AD – pick a fight with America. Demand they leave, they agree. ToE in 10t, RP in 9t. Good timing.
1180 AD – make peace with France – they pay 150gp. Trade France electricity for industrialization, 155gp & WM. I offer France an alliance vs. America for furs. They agree. Give Japan industrialization for war against America. Now America is the odd man out.
Baltimore falls to china. Now Old England is secure.
St. Louis is autorazed.
Battle for Buffalo – raze the city. 2 slaves.
Battle for Satsuma – capture city & catapult. Move catapult and gift city to Japan.
IBT – there is no counter attack. Japan takes at least 1 city, America still has not connected coal and has no rails. No doubt they are far in the north fighting France – and almost won. Too bad they’ll lose their core to thatmistake.
1190 AD – trade France salt for 7gpt. I gift Japan Silks to help them develop.
IBT – America is still hammering France – poor choice since Japan is helping me take apart America’s core.
1200 AD – still no counter attack. Cannons at Seattle go 7/19, destroy barracks, library, wound all 3 defenders and 2 citizens dropping the city to size 5.
Raze Seattle – 2 slaves. All units return for healing.
Now that Salt is within range, I send a Cav army to pillage. That will be the end of cavalry for America (I think, need to double check).
IBT – finally see a few American cav moving in the shadows.
1210 AD – pillaging army attacks passing Cavs – kills both vet cav but at -9hp. Whatever. Move a 13/14 army to cover the wounded 5/14 army.
IBT – zzz
1220 AD – 21 cannons vs Atlanta – go 8/21 – destroy barracks, 3 citizens, even redline some defenders. Top defender is a 2/3. City size 9 on grass. Decide to go for it. Wounded army retreats to barracks. I’ve got 3 cav armies and 20 other cavs waiting for action.
Atlanta is burnt to the ground, 4 slaves.
America will talk – I see they are indeed without salt. That should make things a little harder for them.
1230 AD - Swap all builds to factories – I’ve got plenty of units.
1240 AD - Give France Iron for 31 Gold and WM.
Settle Beijing 2 next to Miami.
1250 AD – Miami is no more. 2 slaves.
Settle Canton 2 to set up attack on Washington.
1255 AD – replaceable parts comes in. Set to AT but turn research off. ToE next turn. Spend all my money upgrading rifles to infantry and cannons to arty. I’m the only one with rubber - Japan has it but buried in jungle, America and Japan contest a 2nd source – but it is also buried in jungle and would need a cultural expansion or colony.
IBT – 1 Cav & 1 LB invade.
1260 AD – ToE build, AT & Electronics picked up. I’m way ahead of everyone now. Hoovers in 12t. Factories will start building in a few rounds. Start Radio in 14t – sort of hoping the AI will research either steel or refining so I can trade it.
5/5 cav vs 3/4 cav – win, -2hp, GL. Make army and load cav. 5/5 Cav vs 4/4 LB – flawless win. Move all 22 arty under army on Washington.
All Rifles converted to infantry.
IBT – America is using LBs for attacks. That doesn’t bode too well for their chances!
1265 AD – Computer crashes at the beginning of the turn after a few worker moves – reload and continue without any lost rounds.
Move cav army next to Washington – city protected by 4/4 rifle. Art vs Washington – arty 9/22, destroy barracks, temple, cathedral, university, library and kill 1 citizen. Hold off attacking for now.
Trade France SM for Communism, WM & 20gp.
1270 AD – arty vs Washington – arty 14/22, destroy colloseum, redline all defenders, kill 5 defenders. Wow. That was pretty good. Time to send in the cavalry. Washington is gone, 3 slaves.
IBT – zzz – see france is starting to retake core from America.
1275 AD – 5/5 cav vs 3/4 LB – win, -1hp.
1285 AD – Settle Tsingtao2 next to Hudson. Roll in 22 Arty under an army.
Arty vs Hudson – art 7/22 – destroy temple, library, university, kill 2 citizens (city size 6 now) and damage 2 defenders. Top defender is a 3/3 Rifle.

1340 AD – Give Japan Electricity for WM & 42gp.
1345 AD – all old units disbanded to rush other projects. Disbanding new units as well. Settling many new cities to farm.
Trade electricity to France for espionage, WM & 40gp. Swap military academe for intelligence agency.
1350 AD – build pentagon & Universal Suffrage,
1360 AD – give Japan ST for WM & 70gp.
1365 AD – France invades me with 1 cav? What are they thinking? I demand they leave, they agree but don’t leave. I encircle the cav with armies and stock every city within reach with 2 infantry.
IBT – France declares, 4/4 cav attacks 4/4 infantry – and is a flawless loss. That was a good trade. So we are back at war.
1370 AD – build intelligence agency. Send 4 armies and 18 cav towards France.
Going to buy Japan into the war – this is interesting – Japan will accept only wines to go to war, but will not do it for any other luxury alone. Why is wine so important? Decide not to buy them in. Maybe they France will buy them in against me and give me more units to kill. Right now I am building stock markets everywhere because I have nothing else to do.
1375 AD – forgot I have pentagon – load extra cavs into all armies.
1380 AD – Japan appears to be preparing an invasion. What’s up with that? We’ve been allies for the last 5385 years?
IBT – they declare – 4/4 cav vs 4/4 cav – they lose, redline my cav but it promotes to elite. That’s all you’ve got?
1385 AD – reroute my cav on course for France into Japan. They can attack Kazan – 18/18 army vs 5/5 Rifle – win, -7hp. 18/18 army vs 3/3 Rifle – win, -2hp. 4/4 cav vs 4/4 cav – lose, -2hp. 4/4 cav vs 2/4 cav – flawless loss, Japanese cav promotes. What? 4/4 cav vs 3/5 cav – win, -2 hp, promote to elite. Load all remaining units into Kazan except armies.
Arty redlines all other invaders. 5/5 cav vs 1/3 cav – flawless win, 5/5 cav vs 1/3 cav – flawless win, 5/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – win, -1hp, 4/4 cav vs 1/4 cav – win, -2hp.
Arty vs Zaragoza – redline 3 defenders (3 Rifles, two 1/3, one 1/2), destroy barracks. 4/4 Cav vs 1/3 Rifle – flawless win. 4/4 Cav vs 1/3 Rifle – flawless loss. 4/4 cav vs 1/3 Rifle – flawless win. 4/4 cav vs 1/2 Rifle – flawless loss, Rifle promotes. Arty reduces to 1/3. 4/4 cav vs 1/3 Rifle – flawless win. A war of extremes. Burn the city down and claim 5 slaves. Also means Japan lost their own supply of coal. I’m the only one with coal.
Cas del Bamrapido is protected by a guerilla. Arty destroys barracks and wounds defenders. 4/4 cav vs 3/3 rifle – win, -2hp. 4/4 cav vs 3/3 rifle – lose, rile 1/3. 4/4 cav vs 2/4 guerilla – win, -2hp, promotes elite. 4/4 cav vs 1/3 rifle – flawless win, promote elite. Capture city & 3 new slaves.
In the open rounds I have taken 3 cities, destroyed all invading units and secured my core. Japan’s ministers are reminding their leader that he should not sneak attack blue civs. Historically it never works out very well.
I plant a spy in France and they have 35 Rifles, 2 Cav and 3 cannons + Navy.
I plant a spy in America and they have 1 musket, 40 Rifles, 4 Cav, 1 cat, 4 cannons, no navy.
My attempts to plan a spy in Japan have failed. I’ll let it go and try next turn.

I have: 3 swords (in an army w/1 infantry), 78 Cav, 54 infantry, 23 arty, 7 armies, 1 rider, 2 guerillas.

IBT – I lose 1 cav at Kazan. Attack Cav is redlined and exposed. 4 other cav invade main land.

1390 AD – plant a spy in Japan – get it on the first try this time. Japan has 1 spear, 20 Rifles, 5 cav. Things are not looking good for Japan. I can see all 5 of their cav.
Arty slaughters cav in the open. 5/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – win, -2hp & GL. Make army. 5/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – flawless win, 5/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – flawless win. 4/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – win, -2hp. 3/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – flawless win. Japan has no more Cav. Japan does have salt and horses, though.

Use my armies to shield Kazan from further attack.
Arty plasters Satsuma (the city I gave them in 1180 AD. So much for good will. Arty reduces city to size 1 and both defenders are redlined. 4/4 cav vs 1/3 Rifle – flawless win. 4/4 cav vs 1/3 Rifle – win, -1hp but promote. Take city – last city I will take so I don’t trip the domination limit.

IBT – France is moving an invasion force towards old England. Think they want bachs?

1395 AD – Detroit now in range of arty – defender redlined –only 1 Rifle now 1/3? 4/4 cav vs 1/3 Rifle – flawless loss, rifle promotes. 4/4 cav vs 2/4 Rifle – win, -2hp. Detroit gone, 2 slaves. 5/5 cav vs 1/4 Rifle in the open – win, -2hp. Move arty in range of Tokyo (capital) for next turn.

Japan is down to 17 Rifles.

IBT – France invades with 2 cav by London – definitely after bachs.

1400 AD – about a dozen units build this round. Arty slaughters French cav in the open – 5/5 cav vs 1/4 cav – win but redline. 5/5 cav vs 1/3 cav – flawless victory.
Check Japan – back to 17 Rifles and 1 Cav.
Arty vs Tokyo – wound defenders, drop city to size 6, destroy barracks and marketplace. There are at least two 2/4 rifle, a 2/3 rifle and a 2/2 rifle. With the city size 6 I decide to attack. I’m making about a dozen units a turn, so what does it matter? Destroy Tokyo at the cost of 1 cav. 2 slaves. I start to rail towards France.
I see that replaceable parts is now known, but no one (other then me) has rubber. Of the two remaining sources, I am bordering one and the other is close by. No rubber for the AI!

IBT – Japanese cav attacks my exposed cav- and dies. My cav promotes to elite!

1405 AD – I have refining and I see I am the only one with oil! Japan has one source I don’t control, but that can be fixed.
Move units towards Kogoshima and arty towards Nagoya.

1410 AD – 10 units build. Japan has 13 Rifles and 3 guerillas. Arty drops Nagoya to size 3, looks like 3 defenders. Nagoya is destroyed at the cost of 1 cav – gain 1 slave. I do put down a city to claim nearby oilfield.

IBT – France is sending 1 Rifle towards me. Is that really necessary? Their total army consists of 33 Rifles and 3 cannon. I don’t think they can really spare this one. Japan is down to 12 Rifles and 2 Guerillas.

1415 AD – Move units, build units.
Decide to attack Kagoshima (size 6 city, on desert w/salt) – 18/18 Army vs 3/3 Rifle win, -2hp. 16/18 Army vs 2/2 Rifle – win, -3 hp. 4/4 cav vs 2/2 Rifle – lose, Rifle -1hp, promotes. 4/4 Cav vs 2/3 Rifle – win, -1hp. Kogoshima is no more. 4 slaves. Run slaves back to Kazan w/ wounded army for healing.
Japan is down to 9 Rifle and 2 guerillas.

1420 AD – Arty bombs Osaka – hurt defenders but city is still size 10 – don’t care, I’m going to take it down this round. I’ve got too many units looking for work.
I run 2 armies and 6 cav from Kazan towards Ulaanbaatar.
Osaka falls at the cost of 1 cav and a redlined army. Gain 7 slave, city is destroyed.
Gate to Ulaanbaatar is open, take city at a cost of 5 Cav – stupid RNG.
Japan has one city left – Edo, size 8. Army is 3 rifles and 1 guerilla.

IBT – I lose 3 slaves to Japanese Guerilla because I wasn’t covering them. Whatever. He’s toast. France lands a Rifle by New Orleans. Guess they want it back? France and America sign peace. I guess that means America will be attacking soon. Bring it on!

1425 AD – Attack on France staged – Tabriz is destroyed – cost to me is 1 cav, France down 2 Rifles, 1 Guerilla, 1 worker, 1 city. Stage arty next to last Japanese city. All invaders destroyed.

1430 AD – arty vs Edo – kill 6 citizens, redline most defenders, destroy barracks & temple. Costs 1 Cav, but Edo is destroyed, resulting in 1 slave. Japan is gone.
Charters destroyed at the cost of 1 cav. 1 slave & capture 2 workers that were in the field.
France is down to 27 Rifles, 3 cannon, 2 guerillas.
America is at 28 Rifles, 7 cav, 1 cat, 4 cannon, 1 musket.
I have 111 cav, 73 infantry, 23 arty, 8 armies, 1 rider, 2 guerillas.

1435 AD – cavs disperse barbs for 25gp.
Battle for Lyons (Size 5 city on grass) – city falls but stupid RNG costs me 3 cav & redlines 4 other cav from 3 rifle defenders. Capture city and Art of War & cannon.
Tours is destroyed at the price of 2 cavs. 1 slave, 1 cannon.
France has 5 cities left – 1 on an island. They are down to 23 Rifles, 2 guerillas, 1 cannon.

IBT – French guerillas kill a 4/4 cav on a mountain. Both guerillas are wounded and exposed. French retake Besancon from the Americans.

1440 AD – Kill both of Frances guerillas at the cost of 1 cav. Arty hits Orleans but city is still size 8.

IBT – no counter attack.

1445 AD – Orleans is size 6. Must have drafted. Thanks! Arty redlines most defenders. Final assault costs 3 cavs, city razed, 1 slave but there is also a settler – so 3 slaves total.
Approach to Paris is tricky – will need to walk arty there in 2 rounds.
I move 1 army and 27 cav on a nearby mountain. Time for the French to give it up. They will be an island empire soon.

IBT – Paris is now size 9. Thanks! America moves a cav near by border. Do you want to fight?

1450 AD – destroy Besancon but two 3/3 rifles hold back 7 cavs and kill one.
Declare on America next round to get things moving if they don’t declare on me. Make a bunch of demands, Abe refuses all.

1455 AD – all guerillas as killed. As promised, declare on America. Destroy their horse colony. Kill a rifle and cav in the open but it costs me a cav

IBT – Paris is size 6. Goody!

1460 AD – take Paris but it take a lot of Cav to do it – costs 2 cav deaths. Capture a bunch of wonders, 2 slaves and 1 arty. France has 1 horseman – where did that come from? – and 9 Rifles left. They had 11 units in Paris.

1465 AD – America feeds me a rifle and settler right on the border – 5/5 cav takes down 1/3 Rifles, nabs settler and creates GL! Make army and fill with Cav.
Rheins falls – costs 2 cav, gain 3 slaves.
Raze a nearby American city as well. 2 slaves.

1470 AD – Marseilles falls. 3 slaves. French are banished to an island. A check of France shows 4 Rifles, 1 horse and some navy.
Kill 3 American cav, 1 Rifle and 1 settler in the open.
Denver destroyed – 2 slaves, costs 2 cav.
Almarikh destroyed – GL Generated – make army for Cav. 1 slave. No losses.
Ta-Tu destroyed – 2 slaves, costs 1 cav.
Mandalgovi destroyed – 2 slaves.

IBT – French capture undefended London and Shanghai 2 because I wasn’t paying attention to a landing party. America kills two exposed cav, but they expose their cav to do it.

1475 AD – retake both cities.
Karakorum falls – capture city and sistines.
Destroy newly founded Dallas.
Roll arty up on New York.

1480 AD – Darham destroyed – no slaves, no loses, sink at least 1 ship in port.

IBT – a barb attacks my 17/17 cav army. Barbs are braver than the AI Civs!

1485 AD – San Francisco – destroyed, 2 slaves. No losses.
Cincinnati – destroyed, no slaves. No losses.
Newly settled Memphis – destroyed, no slaves, no losses.
New York – used armies & arty to crack – destroyed w/great wall, 5 slaves, 1 cannon.
America has 9 Rifles and 1 Guerilla.

IBT – lose a stack of 6 workers to barbs. Lose 1 Cav to American Guerilla, but it is redlined and exposed.

1490 AD – Boston is reduced to ruins, both defenders redlined. Destroyed, 1 slave.
Hovd destroyed, 2 slaves.
Chicago destroyed, 3 slaves.
America only has Philadelphia left. 2 rifles.
France has 3 rifles, 2 frigates, 1 galleon.

Revolt to get to Democracy. Get 8 turns, but what else would you expect?

1500 AD – Make peace with
America and give them New Hangchow 2 – a desert city.

1510 AD – Make peace with France for all their gold (197gp) and WM. They are a 1 tile island, arty has reduced the city to pop 1 with no buildings.

1600 AD – declare war on America to reduce them to a one city desert kingdom. Destroy LA – capture 2 settler=4 new slaves. Pick up another settler = 2 slaves on my staging before Philly.
1605 AD – Philly destroyed, 3 slaves. America has 1 city in the desert.
1660 AD – make peace with America.

1754 AD – trip the domination limit with the Internet. Firaxis Score: 7607, Jason Score: 7432.

England lives on their own peninsula, plus one from Spain. A good source of cash.
France and the Mongols. I almost forgot they were in the game.
Spain. Some cash but not much.

Gift everyone into the new age.

@garvarg,
Fantastic trades in the modern era! I didn't think it was possible to save so many turns in the tech race. :goodjob:

I managed to sneak in with about an hour to spare. I went domination, as that seemed to be the fastest way starting from my "I think I can win this game" situation. I hit the domination limit, but didn't win. As it was the wee hours of the morning, it took me a while to realize that I had enough tiles but not enough population. Once I did, I stopped warring and added in workers and triggered domination in 1310.

I had wars with America, Spain, and England to finish things out, but I managed to get Korea to do most of the hard work in each case. I was pretty proud of my manipulations with America and Spain; they had a mutual protection pact. I got Spain to declare with a boot order, allied Korea, killed a few Spanish units in my territory and made sure that I had no bombarding units that might cause me problems by shooting at Spanish units in their territory, and forted up around the Spanish town in the old Mongol lands. Korea attacked Spain and America declared on Korea. After Korea cleared out the local Spanish town and units and America's ready units, I moved an ironclad in to bombard Spain to get America in on things. I also had a cavalry over there, and one or the other of them caused a war declaration from America during the Spanish turn. This worked out fine since America had already had their turn. I always feel better if they declare on me; I don't feel so bad about wiping them out then.
