GOTM21 Results and Congratulations

[dance][dance][dance]

Woo Hoo, up to 26 from 51! Making progress feels good... Thanks for all the great insights guys.

Congrats to everyone who took part and thanks again to the organisers and all the time they put in...

Congarts to Alex, Kemal and all the others who submitted....

As for me, I stayed at 17th, same as GOTM20. Not bad at all... :D

Congratulations to alexman for a truly remarkable game, getting the gold medal with an approach to the game that totally differed from the (until now?) prevailing method of forming a Republican government. A well deserved gold medal. :goodjob:

Thanks for the compliments people, I'm happy that I've finally beaten Dave in the fastest space race ;), congrats on your great OCC-space race win!

And of course well done to all others who played and submitted, as Yndy said, the level of competition is increasing once again, with plenty of new players sending in great games.

Woe is me  I slipped from 122/185 in GOTM20 to 156/218 in GOTM 21.... how?!! Guess I'll be playing conquest class for a time longer!
Congrats to all the medal winners and especially to Kemal.. a whole 400years before I launched!:goodjob:

Congratulations to all. I managed to establish my second GOTM goal this month - to break the top 20! :) Next goal (top 10) will be much tougher.

unfortunately, it is looking like I won't even get a chance this month. I am way behind and busy...I see the spoiler 2 thread and I don't even qualify for spoiler 1 yet! :(

Great job to all players, especially the newcomers! :goodjob:

Quick questions:

1) Are the Global Player Rankings still used? (not trying to rush you, just curious)

2) How about the "Pantheon of Heroes" ?

3) Can someone point out where to find the legend for the awards? I found a page that showed some of them, but none of the shields or newer icons (as the page I found was outdated by a month or two).

Thanks :D

Congrats to all ... there are a lot of impressive games out there ...

Out of curiosity (don't have enough time to figure this out on my own) ... Kemal had the fastest spaceship victory overall (and for Predators). Who had the fastest spaceship victories for Conquest and Open?

forged

Looks like the fastest Spaceship victories are as follows:

Predator: Kemel - 1170 AD
Open: Green Light - 1385 AD
Conquest: prettyvacant - 1575 AD

I took the table, and resorted it by class first then by launch date..so the image below shows the top 10 fastest spaceship launches by class:

While doing this, I also realized that Hergrom was the only player this month to win by conquest! :goodjob:

Well, Imagine that. 3rd best launch date in the class that I played:) .

Unfortunately, I might not be able to finish this months game, or even play 5-4. but I am trying, just real busy time of year for me.

thanks for the info Rabies!

Congratulations all for a well played game and some whooping scores.

Interesting, in Rabies list we can see how all the 10 Predator players beat the fastest Open player to spaceship. Obviously the tech pace is so much different in those classes.

The early tech pace was higher at predator level, but, no offense to open class, the people playing predator were among the top finishers at earlier gotm games, so I would contribute the earlier finishes more to the quality of the players and not to predator/open differences.

I agree Ronald. I had no intention to find any flaws and just said it was interesting. Players on the Predator level are very good players indeed and since I don't play on that level, I have nothing to complain about.
I take it with good humour and maybe one day I'll be ready to play as Predator as well, but not today :)
I only mentioned it because I had to research everything myself after Invention I think and have not yet discovered the best way of gifting the right techs and so on to help the AI on.

So cheers to all those great Predator players.

Furthermore, all the 10 Predator dates were earlier than all the 10 Open dates, and they in turn were all earlier than all the 10 Conquest dates.

If you sort the list in date order the players in all three classes remain sorted as separate groups.

I got my first award, fastest diplo victory :D . I'm happy about it but I would feel better if Kemal didn't launch his spaceship before that. If I had gone on to a SS launch I would have had the second fastest open time.

I won't be able to play GOTM 22. My computer got a virus and I'm having trouble fixing it.

Well, I don't think I did so well in the QSC this month, but I definitely improved over the full game, jumping from 93/185 in GOTM20 to 65/218 in GOTM21.

Rabies: Since you've got those sorted lists there, maybe you could tell me how far I am outside the top 10 times for the Open class? I launched in 1585AD, but wouldn't be surprised if there are a cluster of Open players around that date.

@Dianthus:

There were 94 Open spaceship victories. By my reckoning you were equal 12th Open player to launch, same turn as Shevek and 20 years behind MadScot. Open launches 11 to 20 were all achieved by 1615AD. Your Jason score was 19th of the Open launchers.
