GOTY - "Cannot locate CD-ROM" issue - HELP ME PLEASE!

Hi all!

After dealing with several installation issues, I finally got CIV 4 Vanilla GOTY installed in my Toshiba laptop (Win 7 64). I already patched it to 1.74, however when I want to play i get this message:

Cannot locate CD-ROM
Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart the application.

This is pretty weird, since I already have tried all CD-ROMs and the message keeps appearing.

PLEASE, help me out. I'm almost running out of patience since Civ 4 is one of my fav games and the guys at TakeTwo tech support don't seem to care about my issue. I'm desperate and confused

I think that GOTY is supplied fully patched, but I may be wrong, I have the regular version - did you check what it was patched to before applying 1.74?

The copy protection in Civ 4 objects to programs that may be used to duplicate CDs, have you got any CD copying programs or drive emulation software installed?

are you running this game with admin rights?
try wind xp compatibility
