Grab the Game, Ghandi! -open succession game-

Donsig,

NOBODY is playing unless they post their intent to move.

1000 bc. - 610 bc. The rule of Ghandi XII

After deposing of the tyranny of Emperor Lee, Ghandi XII decides to make his priorities straight.

Priorities : Pyramids deemed 1st priority, next Iron. Theres an iron deposit near Donville, as well in scandinavia. We continue our military build up, while profiting from our vast communications network and tech trade deals.

* Concluded peace with the germans
* Finnish barbs trashed and gold raided
* Barbarian wars in siberia continues. Our warrior falls bravely in the war against the mongols in siberia, charging one of their camps
* Keep exploring to the south
* Embassies established in China, France and Russia
* We traded contacts and a few techs for gold with the russians and the greeks -further deals are still possible -trouble is, they don't really have much to give in return.

Major breakthrough in geography
* Got map making and philosophy from the germans in exchange for greek gold and world map; greeks pays us 1 gold/turn and we pay germans 1 gold/turn
* After learning the mastery of maps, we earned more than 200 gold +2 gold/turn by sharing maps with virtually everyone. We now have a very good knowledge of our immediate competitors.

PLANS
War with germany again is inevitable at some point. Conclude roads to our iron sources, and start swordsmen production. Pyramids will be built very soon. Send settlers forth to colonize new lands, especially in the east. Europe is very crowded as it is, while Asia and Africa seems open.

Ghandi XII resigns with the accomplishment of having opened the indian peoples eyes to the world. We will not isolate ourselves no longer.

Our empire and neighbours :

The French in Crimea?!? Donsig I turns in his grave, but one of his descendants takes control in Delhi...

(I'm playing now...)

590: War declared on Germany and German slaves taken.

570: A band of German warriors killed and Hamburg destroyed. New Donville founded in the eastern forests.

550: Germans cut off from their supply of horses as a band of our warriors is lodt.

530: We lose another unit of warriors.

510: New Donville burned by Germans.

490: Japanese extort maps and gold.

450: German archers killed.

430: China tries extortion but their threats are rejected. German warrior and horseman killed. Pyramids built. A new religious project started.

Germany has to go but the war has been tough since we have only archers. We can make horsemen in Donville and will soon be able to make swordsmen in Scandinavia.

We have to link Donville up with our capital. Then more cities can make horsemen. We must also hook up our Scandinavian cities to Delhi. There is also iron near Rochester.

I suggest our main war effort should be directed against the German cities to our east. I don't think they have access to iron or horses so all we have to do is beat archers and spearmen. We should try to pillage the road on the horses near Berlin again. Germany has iron and if they have pklaced a road to the iron it must certainly be destroyed!

China looks weak since they are in the desert...

This is an open game so anyone can take the next turn. Just post so we all know who is playing.

250 BC - German horsemen take the poorly defended Rochester, stealing 16 gold. The Great Library is started in Delhi.

230 BC - Cavalry retakes Rochester. Genericgrad founded in Scandinavia, securing another source of iron.

210 BC - Konigsberg captured and razed. Germans offer a peace treaty, but it is declined.

190 BC - Barbarian camp spotted in Arctic circle.

130 BC - Munich captured, razed.

110 BC - St. Genericsberg founded in Scandinavia.

90 BC - Germans capture Rochester.

30 BC - Rochester retaken, again.

10 BC - Rochester captured, again. And razed.

10 AD - Mathematics completed, beginning research on Construction.

90 AD - Athens completes Great Lighthouse.

130 AD - The mysterious Mister Generic, general of the war against Germany, is jailed for incompetence.

Okay, as far as I can tell only one German city remains in the west. Leipzig is Germany's iron supplier, but my horseman couldn't pillage the road before my turn was up. They have alot of swordsmen in our territory, but a wave of Swordsmen from Scandinavia should arrive in a few turns.

130 AD After seizing power, a peace treaty is concluded with the germans. We give them peace, they give us code of laws, maps & 20 cold. They seem to know we have the upper hand. Donville is ordered to build settler, to rebuild Rochester.

190 AD The Germans seem to have got an iron source near leipzig, and they are sending swordsmen against the french. We prepare for the final wiping out of the germans. Scandinavia produces galleys and swordsmen to land outside Berlin, but first, we need barracks, and roads connecting all our cities to avoid civil unrest and corruption. Libraries, roads, swordsmen!

Damn! The French build GL!

We take one round of negotiations with every tribe we've met, and make huge profits from selling our maps and a few techs to those less privileged than we. We now have a treasury of 531 gold, with a steady income, and a high science rate at 60%. Soon we should change to monarchy, as soon as possible.

Kama Putra, the great sailor and explorer, continues his circumnavigation of our world, exploring the vast polar regions to the far far west.

260 AD Preparations for invasion of Germany continues. We now have a galley to ferry swordsmen directly from Scandinavia and Poland to Berlin. Russians demands literature, but are refused. The russians are toast soon, for the Zulus appear mightily aggressive. Our real enemies here will be the Zulus and perhaps the french, if we want to reclaim the Great Library.

290 AD We land troops outside Berlin and conclude a rights of passage agreement in order to position our forces before we strike. roads & barracks near completion. soon all our cities will be producing swordsmen. We have set science to 100%, profiting from our map sales. We have a huge treasury compared to our competitors.

300 AD Indian forces take Berlin. Vast combined efforts of Archers and Swordsmen. Our armies are lining up outside Leipzig, which will undoubtedly fall very soon.

310 AD Leipzig falls to Indian forces. We install new governor. Germany now has only one city, Frankfurt, which should be destroyed soon. The germans manage, however, to build a new city, Hamburg, to the far northeast, in the polar region.

330 AD Another round of diplomacy. Maps sold, and we give some of our gold to the Iroqouis, for sharing the secret of the Republic. Monarchy is preferred however, if we are to wage further wars on this continent in the near future.

Brutesia has been founded to secure Zulu border and cultural influence in the gap left by the german war. Our forces has been sent south to prepare for the taking of the french Great Library in Paris. Our real enemies are probably the Zulus, though. They seem to expand like crazy and become ever more demanding in their attitude. The general master plan should really be the wiping out of the Zulus.

400 AD Emperor Brutus is buried in the pyramids of Delhi. Honoured be his memory for his successes in the Great German War.

Glad to see that Rochester is back on the map! Paris would be a nice addition to our country.

I will play now.:)

400 AD: Killed German archers near Berlin.

410: Contacted French with an eye towards drawing them into a possible war with Zululand. Joan wants horses, iron and our maps just for a right of passage agreement. Hmmm, she needs iron and horses...

420: Small force sets out to take Hamburg.

430: We station a force near Tours.

440: Ceasar demands furs. We give him the cold shoulder and he declares war. Punjab's boat is lost! Our forces reach Hamburg. Many city improvements built. Rome is far away in North Africa.

450: Before sinking Punjab found England. Through them we get contact with Babylon. Hamburg destroyed.

490: Monarchy established.

Through 530: many Roman forces killed off through the years in French territory. Ceasar is ready for peace. Our peace treaty with France can now be cancelled. We're working on our first harbor, the Great Wall and our defense forces have been bolstered in our cities.

My successor has many choices to make...
