No, I won't be able to play. :(

I amstill working on the Rise of Rome game

Here's the file. I'll post my summary in a few hours.:)

EDIT: Attachment deleted to save server space!

1760 AD: Japan and England sign a trade embargo against us. France and Persia ally against Greece and France declares war on Greece. Told Montezuma to remove his troops from our territory and he complied. We lose our spice and gems imports.:( Our scientists learn the secrets of electronics.

We are at war with England but they are far away in western North America. I tried to make peace since there is no actual fighting going on but Elizabeth refused our envoys. I established embassies with everyone.

We need rubber. It all seems to be in South America.

Note: Our histograph lead over second place America is 97 points. America is 3 ahead of England which is 12 in front of Egypt. Russia is in last place. How ironic since we started out in Russia! Our culture seems highest.:goodjob:

1762: Zulus wipe out Russia. Our cities continue to build improvements and our workers finalize our rail network and clean up pollution.

1764: We lose our ivory imports. Runner is spotted near New Xinjian, a chinese city south of oour recent conquests in Asia. There is a red civ between our country and this rubber supply. Can't recall if it is Rome or Japan.

1766: Persia allies with England and declares war on us. (I think Persia is in the eastern half of North America.)

1768: We learn refining. Didn't have time to scout for oil.

I've continued building improvements in our cities. Also built a few galleons and some artillery. My idea was to form a task force of cavalry, arty and riflemen to invade North America. I figured knocking England and Persia around a bit would force them to sue for peace.

I think we should sieze the rubber that China has even if it means war with the red civ as well as China. Once the rubber is secured we can have peace in Asia again. (Assuming we don't have to fight for oil!) We have ALOT of cavalry near the Black Sea.

Once we have peace with England and Persia I'd start throwing India's weight around in South America. There's alot of rubber there and we should own it all!:satan:

Our income has dropped about 400 gold/turn due to declarations of war and expiring agreements. I sold what I could it didn't amount to much.

Remember to use maximum compression when zipping the file for this game!

We still have Argentina, another city nearby and two settlers about to make more cites there. Trouble is, the South American rubber belongs to Egypt. There's more than one source and they may already have traded some to another civ. The supply in Asia is closer and only weak civs are there. I've been thinking that taking that rubber supply first (even before war in North America) is prudent. It depends on oil though. We just learned refining and must find oil as well as secure a rubber source. I think we need infantry in order to be able to force peace upon England and Persia. I also think the key to remaining a democracy is to end these wars. I've only been advocating seizing the Asian rubber because we are already at war with England and Persia and it shouldn't add that much to war weariness, especially if we can take what we need quickly and make peace.:)

BTW, aren't Persia in England, and Babylonians in east US?

It might be the Babylonians in the eastern US, I'm not sure. The Greeks are the ones in England. It's all very confusing geographically.:crazyeyes

General elections are held a new president is elected. A strange looking man with a funny name 'Rinker' assumes the office with much fanfare. The circumstances of the election are controversial (rumors or ballot stuffing, promises to trade unions, etc.) but his promises of an expansion without end are very popular.

I have the game and will post my results in few days.

Diplomatic Relations

At war with English (distant, little contact) and Persia (same)
England has MPP with Rome (our neighbor in central Africa and South America)
Persia at war with the Greeks
Japan (our neighbor) and Babylon (England's neighbor) have MPP
Rome, England and Japan have trade embargo against us

Resources

Rubber needed. Closest supply is New Xinjian (Chinese) just south of Syracuse in central Africa. Other supplies are in South America, which are firmly held by Egyptians, and in the Phillipines, which look like the Americans and Zulus have or will soon have.

Oil is plentiful in our territory.

Relative Strength of Civilizations

We are the most powerful civilization by a small margin and amongst the most culturally advanced. Our technology is several advances ahead of all other civilizations.

Next to us, Egypt, America, England and Iroquois appear to be the most powerful with the Azteks and Babylonians not far behind.

France, Germany and Zulu appear to be non-factors. This is likely due to dealings with some of my predecessors.

Persia cannot be found. Can only find Persian town Samaria in Australia. Talk about a stealth war.

China, Japan and Rome are our most powerful neighbors but are no match for us.

Greeks are small and more or less land-locked in Great Britain.

Military Situation

Although at war with 2 other civilizations, we have no war weariness. Likely due to our enemies being so distant and no actual battles taking place.

English war. 8 English archers and 2 spearmen are within view of our South American city Argentina. Any attacks on English units will activate the English - Roman MPP and bring Rome into war with us. Attacking the English or being attacked by them will also cause war weariness.

Azteks have a large number of units marching through our territory in North Africa. They are not at war with us, but are annoyed with us. Ingrates! According to the historical documents there has been nothing but honorable trade agreements between our peoples.

We have a large force of Cavalry in Donville. Several military units, including an army, are en route to the new world in South America. Cavalry protects some cities instead of riflemen and few cities have more than one unit defending.

Construction of Note

Forbidden Palace is nearing completion in Rheims at our eastern front.

Intelligence Agency nearing completion in Kamma Putra.

Hoover Dam under construction in Delhi.

United Nations and Manhatten Project are not available for 7 discoveries.

Statistics

Score: 1083 First by 119 over English and America
Culture: 47422 about 420 / turn
Treasury: 2865 with gain of 527 per turn
Discoveries: Every 4 turns

Long Term Goals

- Avoid active conflict unless there is a specific goal that can be obtained quickly. This should minimize any war weariness.
- Expand territory through conquest around Forbidden Palace.
- Establish presence in South America. This would give easier access to Egypt, England and Babylon in case some 'peace keeping' action is required.
- When the opportunity presents itself, make life difficult for out nearest rivals. Currently they are Egypt, England, America and the Iroquois. Babylon and the Azteks also have the potential of becoming a large power.

Short Term Goals

- Protect South American city Argentina and other South American outposts.
- Obtain rubber supply. Closest supply is in New Xinjian. Since Rome has MPP with England and a trade embargo against us, we will likely be at war with them soon. The rubber supply in New Xinjian is also near two Roman cities. It should be possible to take the Roman cities and culture the rubber away without engaging the Chinese.
- Get Egypt and Babylon in war against England. This should prevent any active conflict in Argentina and slow those civilizations down a bit.
- Try to get a great leader. Once the Forbidden Palace is built, the capital could be moved to central South America cementing our presence there.
Note: I have never tried moving the capital and am not certain this would be beneficial. On one hand, the new cities in South America would be productive and facilitate conquest on that continent. On the other hand, corruption would increase in what are now our core cities and the risk of our captured cities flipping back to their former owner increases.

Indian History 1768 - 1808 The Fall of Rome and Continental Expansion

1768 - Signed a military alliance with Babylon and Egypt against England. Hopefully this will distract the English archers near the city Argentia.
Traded away some obsolete technology to other civilizations.
Gave France and Germany Democracy and Economics with the hopes those civilizations will forgive the aggressions of my predecessors. (Not really, I just want them to generate some wealth so I can sell them more stuff.)
Gave China some furs with the hope that they wouldn't declare war. After all, the fur will be flying near their border soon.

1770 - English archers near Argentina left, seems they have better things to do. Trade embargo against us between Japan and England ended. Japanese - Babylon MPP brings Japan into war with England, that makes four against England now.
Declared war on Rome and razed Hippo Regius. Will build a better-placed town near there to get the rubber.
Saanich founded in South America.

1772 - Rome declares war on Babylon. Probably their MPP with England was activated. Japan and Persia begin trade embargo against us. I'm not sure if Japan is initiating these trade embargoes or if our enemies keep sucking the Japanese into them. Although our people lust for their land, we do not want conflict with the Japanese yet as we have other short-term objectives.
War weariness in our cities is already setting in. Better make quick work of the Romans or settle.
Rubber town founded. Took Agrippina and was rewarded with a great leader.

1774 - Roman - English MPP brings Rome into war with Egypt. Bad news for Rome as they are trying to gain a foothold in South America and most of Egypt's cities are there. A Roman city in South America disappears.
Located Persian homeland on east coast of Asia (in Japan).
Preparations were made for settling South America and moving capital there.

1776 - A stack of Roman Calvary attacked from Tokyo and take Canton. Apparently, the Romans have a ROP with Japan and China. Nice flanking move by them but sloppy on my part.
Chinese Army in New Xinjian is threatening Nicomedia. They may be ready for a sneak attack.
Discovered Combustion (Destroyers and Transports) and diverted Galleon's en route to South America back to Byzantium for upgrade.
Took Jerusalem (Rome's capitol) with 2 Cavalry lost. Re-took Canton. Killed Roman Cavalry used in Canton attack (5 of them).
Secured a ROP with the Chinese for coal. Main goal here is to avoid a war with them. Used ROP to take Roman city Londinium.
Rubber is now on-line.
Reinforced front lines with China and Japan to 2 riflemen in case Romans try same trick again.

1778 - Babylon - Japanese MPP brings Rome into war. More bad news for Rome.
Roman cities Aurelianorum (Rome's new capital), Seleucia, and Caesarea (Rome's new new capital) are taken. Rome now has 1 city Artaxata on continental Africa located on the west coast of Africa behind Zulu and Greek borders. Convieniently, this city also has rubber.
Negotiated ROP with Greece and began railway to Artaxata for invasion. Railway completed with mass of workers and Artaxata (Rome's capital yet again) falls securing another source of rubber and removing the Roman threat from continental Africa.
Chinese army spotted last turn is actually Japanese. Seems the Japanese may have some plans after all. Fortified all border cities with Japan with Infantry and Artillery as resources permitted.
Launched 3 transports to South America with Destroyer escort. Fleet is transporting enough units to take out the Romans there and also contain 4 settlers and the great leader.

1780 - All quiet.

1782 - Greece declares war on Romans. The bad news never ends for them.
Filled another transport with workers, riflemen and a settler and sent it to South America.
Seems like moving the capital to South America will become a reality. Shift worker priorities to essential railways, pollution, then improving terrain around forbidden palace and near by cities. Start building police stations and courthouses in cities not near Forbidden Palace.
Discovered conquered Roman city Jerusalem is on rubber. That makes 3 sources now.

1784 - Londinium flips to Romans. Romes capital is on a one square island just off the west coast so it cannot be touched until marines.
Mass Production discovered (Battleship, Carrier, Subs).
Did not re-take Londinium to avoid war weariness.

1786 - Zululand enters alliance with Babylon against Rome.
Rome has only 3 cities left in South America. Seems the Egyptians have been picking them off.

1788 - Rome builds new town Verona in northwest Africa.

1790 - Roman city in South America razed by Egypt. Only 1 left.
Forbidden Palace constructred in Rheims.

1792 - Germany declares war on Rome. Last Roman city in South America holds out from Egyptian attack but won't last long.
Mobile Transportation (Tanks) discovered.
Spotted a Eyptian Galley and Frigate near the Roman island city Umtata. It is located just west of North Africa. Probably an invasion force for the Roman city.
Landed 6 Cavalry and an Infantry on Umtata to beat the Egyptians to the invasion.
Landed units in South America but couldn't move them this turn.

1794 - Egypt and England signed a peace treaty. English offered peace treaty.
Someone razed new Roman town Verona. Egypt razed the last Roman town in South America. Only the Roman town Londinium remains in Africa and contains nothing of value. Egypt flanked out troops on the island of Umtata preventing us from taking it from the Romans.
With Romans off South America, units landed there can focus on settlement. Got a ROP with Egypt.
Signed peace treaty with England. Rome still won't talk to us.

1796 - Signed peace treaty with Persia. Rome still won't talk to us.
Sent settler to former location of Verona in north Africa as location has ivory.

1798 - Romans have three Japanese cities near eastern front. Where on earth did they get the military to do this. They have few cities, only two could be found that were not on islands a few years ago.
Took Matsuyama from Romans. They had ten units defending it and 10 more in the vicinity. Romans still will not talk to us.

1800 - Romans counterattack with surprising strength. They only managed to kill one Calvary though.
Amphibious War discovered (Marines).
Colwood and Esquimalt founded in South America.
Re-took Londinium. Was going to let the Romans keep it might be possible to get some gems.
Rome finally talks to us. Took Umtata, Hakodate, Izumo, Hippo Regius, Minneapolis, Sidon, Tyrus and their world map for peace. Many of these are junk cities on remote islands in the middle of nowhere, but they give us a presence in new parts of the world.
We are now at peace with all civilizations.

1802 - Bombay founded in North Africa. City should provide ivory.

1804 - Fukushima (Japan) culturally defects to us.

1806 - Hoover Dam completed.
Mill Bay founded in South America.

1808 - Flight discovered (Bomber, Fighter, Airport).
Victoria and Lanford founded in South America. Once the road infrastructure is in place, we will move our capital to Victoria.
Airport rushed in Dye Town, South America plus airports started in several core cities.

It's all out cultural war with Egypt. Our ace in the hole is our large cash flow to buy cultural improvements and our willingness to relocate the capital to Victoria, South America with the assistance of the great leader Shivaji (seen standing in Dye City).

Nearing the elections of 1808, word of President Rinker's secret agenda of moving the capital to Victoria, South America got out. An election that would have been another sure victory ended up in a disastrous landslide against him. President Rinker disappeared from the texts of Indian history having never fulfilled his dream.
