Great 2 player games for the PS2?

I'm going to have some friends coming over soon. Probably be playing some 2 player PS2 games. So, any suggestions on what kind of good games to get where 2 ppl can play? Not genre specific but so long as it's fun will do.

Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance and Virtual Fighter 4 are the only ones that come to my mind :/

Virtual Fighter 4 is cool.
They have some good wrestling games out and the sports games are pretty much all great for PS2. Going down to your nearest BlockBuster and renting some. Or the nearest shady pirate? (I vote the second one for where you are)

I've had fun playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.

I was going to suggest that! It is quite tough initially but you can get the hang of it quickly and start pulling tricks and jeering at one another's failures. It's really good when you've managed a kickflip for 200 points or so and the other person falls at the end of a 30,000 combination.
Also good to play the single mode with each player taking turns.
As is GTA3 - just play a mission each or just ride around and beat people up or shoot people.
For 2 player kicks, play Pro Evo Soccer (it's like football but with a silly name) either against one another or co-operatively if you like footie. The co-operation causes some great arguments as to who was at fault when the opposition waltz through your defence and beat the keeper easily.

Oh - and Wipeout Fusion is great for 2!

Hehe. Over here, unless you can read Japanese, not much point in getting original games.

Whereas import PS2s (that can play US games) fr the States had been banned. Something about different electrical voltage grids... PS2s sold here are all made for Japan.
