1 - Greece are allied to all twelve City States and runaway game leaders according to demographics.
2 - I go to war and leave Greece with just one City (knossos) situated on a small island.
3 - I become allied to all twelve CS by the renaisance era thanks to proceeds from wars with Mongolia, China and Greece.
4 - Now in the industrial era, I have been noticing a build up of Greek units situated on the military CS islands.
I assume they are receiving these units because they are still friends and the reason they are staying where they are spawned is because the Greek island is to small to accomodate them?
I assume that if we went to war again then those units would be cast into the sea outside the CS borders, if not I had better declare war again before they become overpowering!
Has anyone else come across this? I would liken it to partisans of a previous civ!

Edit - Added a couple of screenshots to show what I'm on about

When I captured the greek cities (All but one) I was still in the classic era, now even though we're in the Industrial Era they're still number one in science! And they've only at best been friends with the 12/11 now city states since that time.

As long as you have enough influence over a CS (friends and above) you get a bonus.

There can only be 1 ally to the CS, so the ally gets the best bonus. But other players can still have influence.

So he's getting units from those military CS because he has influence

... and no, the units will not be 'cast out'. So yes, you should declare on him.

Thanks - I just saved and checked it out, their units do remain where they are if I declare war.
I am more interested in what would happen if the Greeks declared war on me, I am trying my damndest to get the Greeks to attack me, if their units remain on the CS tiles then I can see a game changing strategy (for us) based around it!
