[GS] GS Game Code

Hello Fellow Civ 6 Fans:

I just pre ordered GS via Amazon for a digital DL game code. Are the game codes not being released until the actual release date of Feb 14th? Is Firaxis controlling the release of the codes? All of you who have pre ordered via Steam GMG Amazon etc. have you received your game code already?

I saw a digital code in my account and when I used it on Steam to add a new game the message read game already activated in your Steam account. Then I realized it was an old code which I got back in 2016 for Civ 6. So my game code for GS has not been sent to me via Amazon.

Yeah you won’t receive your code until about February 14th

Codes are never released until the game is released. Depending if Amazon is an "official" reseller then they will release as soon as the game launches all other codes are released as soon as Firaxis sends them to the seller, which is usually within a hour or so or release.

If you buy it on Steam it gets added to your library automagically and you'll get to preload it before release.
