Hmmm....let's think what would Kobayashi be doing in his free time? hmm i bet iit has to do withcreating another scenario.

By the looks of it I'd say you might have watched "The Phantom Menace"

Hmm... an X-Wing, a Y-Wing, an A-Wing and a B-Wing!!

Definitely something to do with the Star Wars Trilogy! (None of these ships were in The Phantom Menace)

I like what I see!

I'll be honest, I have never been a fan of Star Wars and up till a week ago, I didn't even know that the Episode IV is now called A New Hope. Then I decided to one review on a Star Wars scenario, that led to a bit of snooping around on the web and now I've decided to proceed with making my scenario,

Star Wars - Insurrection and Rebellion

Lets wind back the clock to when Luke was still a farm boy and lets just say that Admiral Zaarin decides to do his coup a few years early and kills the emperor.

The rebellion continues in the form of the New Republic but the empire is split into the old empire and the second imperium.

The tribes so far as I see it are:

Old Empire (Palpatine II - the clone)
Second Imperium (Zaarin)
New Republic (Bail Organa)
Corporate Sector Authority (Gregor Raquoran?)
Unalligned (?)
Warlords (?)
Pirates (Jabba)

There is no battle of Yavin or Endor and all that stuff..it will be free flowing and you can play as any of the first three.

Hey, question.

Was there ever a book written, or did they just make a movie with this really complicated histroy that serves no purpose?

I mean they start off ever movie with the beginning of a chapter but why??? or Where does it come from???

The movies came first and the books are spin offs. Lucas planned nine moves and started making the middle three first.

Well that's the strange thing about Star Wars, there are only four movies so far and no tv series. In Star Trek, the only canon sources are the the 4 TV series and 9 movies. There are maybe two hundreds novels but these are not halal (maybe I should use kosher). I personally have read about a hundred of these. In Star Wars, 4 movies just don't have that much meat and everything is kosher - computer games, and novels (presumably there are at least 100 of these). Then there are fanatics which comb through everything and compile the information on different websites according to categories - ships, races, planets, equipment etc.

Damn. It's gonna be another "Kobayashi Classic". ZWK was cool and your ST scn's are awsome. Hmm...Star Wars is new territory to you though. I wonder 'bout this one....Well, atleast the units'll be good

.

PS: When are you gonna do a fantasy scn kobayashi? I know Sci-Fi is your thing, but we need a kobayashi fantasy...

Right on Koby!

I have to admit, I didn't really care a lot for Star Wars until a few years ago when my son started having an interest in some of the action figures. I've read a couple Star Wars books, including the novel by George Lucas and recently I acquired the a set of the "unremastered" video tapes of all four movies in which I've watched over and over and over with my little son.

In short, I'm behind you all the way and agood SW scenario could really set the mood for an excellent summer of scenarios. We're already into July so play testing could be great. I like the units you've posted and they give me ideas of course.

Keep us posted.

Looks great, kobayashi! I hope it'll be one like we are used to.

I know it seem hard sometimes, but uh...
remember one thing:
through every dark night,
there's a bright day after that,
so no matter how hard it get, stick ya chest out
keep ya head up and handle it.

Hey Kob,

I don't know if you've thought much about it but are you going to use some fresh sounds? You can add a lot that way...If you need anything let me know...

John

I've already finished the sounds. Usually I try to limit the size of the sounds but this time I'm going all out. I spliced them from everywhere cause the amount of SW wav files out there is very limited. I have already collected all the standard Star Wars phrases. Half my sounds are from Star Trek but cleverly done so no one will notice. For instance, Picard gives the order to fire the graviton Weapon on Ceterpoint Station and a Borg extraction beam noise is used for the actual weapon. Majel Barret's voice is used for the "life support will run out in 10 seconds" message.
