so whats the point with guirellas? they dont need rubber, but if your that far into the game and dont have rubber, you're pretty screwed anyways.still i like the way they look.

They have two points that come to mind. 1) they do not need rubber and that can be very important in some games.
2) they provide an upgrade path.

They also have bombardment on defense, not a bad thing.

Yeah, guerillas upgrade to TOW Infantry, and with TOWs you have half a chance of surviving Modern Armor attacks.

cant u just build tow?

I use guerillas all the time.

I upgrade my archers/longbowmen when the time comes and they serve the purpose.

I also build a lot of archers, great defensive units coupled with spearmen or whatever.

When I pop an enemy city and build one (or take the city over), I generally escort my workers who are doing improvements with a spearman or pikeman - or whatever unit I have like that and an archer considering I'm on the enemy boarder. Then an infantry and guerilla when I upgrade.

These are typically culture, space, diplo, or histo types of win.

Yeah, they often come in handy in my 20k culture games. I usually don't build many of them, but they are a good upgrade from longbows and medieval infantry.

If the game isn't finished by the time they become available, TOW is a very powerful upgrade. TOWs cost loads of shields to build (more than Mech Inf) but if you have Leonardo's, the upgrade is great value.

I just like the fact that all those shields spent on earlier units are not lost and I find they are very good at taking down the Reg Cavs the AI likes to build.
