GWT: Diplo Logs and General Discussion

You fail to specify how their peace treaty prevented us from seeing whatever it is that 40J always says that it blocked. Someone quick! What was that?

Also, you need to uncapitolize the word "While" near the top.

For the most part it looks good but I feel it doesn't quite show them as complete badguys. In fact, just seems to show another side of a evenly evil (or good, your pick) war.

The peace treaty proposal from GCA nearly prevented us from seeing that GCA had destroyed Yun Feyling (or whatever the Iron city was called).

Yun Feng.

So edit into the proposal that they sent a peace treaty so we couldn't see Yun Feng was destroyed, and had we accepted they would have gotten away with godmoding (though find a better term for it)

That ABSOLUTELY needs to be in. Fighting a conflict is normal and expected. Using a game mechanic to hide the destruction of a city - very underhanded!

Octavian - your summary is excellent, but almost too balanced and fair. Be emotional, be angry, be persuasive! We're trying to describe a vile and dangerous country, begging for it's mere existance after it's conduct caused all of the neighboring countries to ally against it!

ravensfire: There were a lot of rants I could have written in, but I fear that excessive emotion could be our downfall. When one begins to insert his own opinions into a history, the account becomes increasingly biased. The best way to convince GWT of the dishonesty of GCA is to make them decide for themselves that GCA is bad. My biggest fear is that, with excessive emotion, they will dismiss the account as biased.

croxis' grammer change was made.

Dunno about including that peace treaty thing, since we could have easily seen if Yun Feng was still there by checking the world map in the corner, or by checking to see which cities we could offer to GCA in exchange for peace. (The 'Cities' tab on our side of the diplo dialog).

So what if we check the Cities tab, and Yun Feng isn't there anymore? Does that make GCA's attempt at trickery any less devious?

Heck, go ahead and tell them that we checked the Cities tab, and took inventory of all the little dots and found we lost our city. But without mentioning this undeniable act of treachery, we won't convince GWT of anything.

Remember, if we speak without passion regarding this incident, then why would they want to do anything?

Give 'em the facts. All of 'em. ;)

 It's MEANT to be biased. We aren't writing history, we are presenting our side of the fight. Why do you think Democrats keep losing elections vs Republicans? From a Democrat's point of view we as a party are pansies who are afraid of upsetting people while the other side tells it how they see it, and then do great.

why should GWT care if GCA lives or not? They didn't with other teams. Obviously GCA told GWT an emotional, "biased" (duh) story about our conflict which won them GWT's favor to the extent of them being granted not 1, but 2 cities.

And to back that up, GCA acted in a manner that made it seem that we conquered and razed GCA's cities. Any self-respecting nation would buy into that sob story unless they had the proper facts on the matter.

I expect this issue to escalate in Term 5, especially as we draw nearer to Navigation. But let's see what GWT has to say.

Yes, GCA could have been fooling GWT by razing the cities themselves... Could be so.

I would like to report my name for any positions vacant that require a bit of responsibility as I'm fresh here and looking to get heavily involved as the whole concept of dealing with other ACTUAL real teams performing the same operations as us amazes me as I have been restricted to single player games.
