Preturn:
I think we're still progressing with the idea of achieving a domination victory. Here's the Victory Conditions screen:
We have enough population already, but we need land area. 23% more land area to be specific. That means that we need to take from TWO of our rivals, as our leading rival only has 16% land area anyway. So probably Toku first, and Qin next. We'll most likely want to completely conquer Toku, but for Qin, we'd only need to take about a third to a half of his land to get to the domination level. We also need to get some settlers out there on islands to cover more land area. There are four possible city sites out there that will gather us the rest of the unclaimed land.
North Island:
South Island:
I think we should prioritize Green Dot and Red Dot, since if we pump enough culture there, Vilcabamba may flip to us. Also, if we're lucky, Yellow Dot may provide us a seafood resource from the fog.
In addition, I see we're researching Electricity, but I *really* think we should be beelining for Assembly Line and Industrialization for the infantry and the tanks. We're so far ahead of everyone else right now that what we really need to do is just pump units (and a few settlers) and ROLL ROLL ROLL!!
Civics: We're in Vassalage and Theocracy, but producing very few units currently. Well, I intend to rectify that, so no sense in revolting from those.

Are we having happiness problems?? We're in Hereditary Rule, but I really can't see how that's helping us a ton. With our economy, I think Universal Suffrage would work well. Plus we have over 5000 gold to rush builds! I also think we need to go to Emancipation. We're getting +5 unhappy in places because we're not in that civic. That should take care of *any* unhappiness that would result from getting out of Hereditary Rule.
A few other things I see scrolling through the cities.
- Teotihuacan is building Wall Street. Shouldn't that be built in Antium, our top financial city?? No point changing now, though.
- Gemini Montes is building an aqueduct, but really can't grow much larger anyway due to lack of food.
- Hamburg is building a Confucian temple, I assume for culture. I don't think it's *that* important here. It's producing +10/turn, which is enough to maintain its current borders. I'm not exactly sure *why* Berlin is building a temple.
- LOL at the city raider III machine gun!
- Revolted to Universal Suffrage and Emancipation
- Changed research to Assembly Line
- Changed a *bunch* of builds to infantry/grenadier/artillery
- Upgraded a *bunch* of archers/longbowman to riflemen/grenadiers, cannon to artillery, and a couple of caravels to destroyers. I so rarely get to spend 4500 gold at one go.
Turn 1 (1832 AD)
- Anarchy already over. Happy all over! +68 gold/turn at 80% research as before.
- Change some conquered cities to emphasize both food and production.
- Reconnoiter troops to Japanese border
Turn 2 (1834)
The dreaded "..." SOD!:
- Declare war on Toku!! I'm going straight for the only iron I can see, not like that's a big deal right now.
- Units in Japanese territory cause increased upkeep, so decrease science to 70%. We still get Assembly Line in 5.
- We're now at 0 (Cautious) with China and -1 (Cautious) with Huayna. I gift them each dyes to make them happier with me. Not sure it did anything.
Turn 3 (1836)
- Careless, careless. Lost two workers on the border with the southern Japanese city. But their units are out in the open now, so they make easy pickin's.

- Destroyed a musketman and grenadier down by Nagoya and took a worker back.
Well looky, Toku's got a whole lot of nuthin' guarding Tokyo. If I can survive the catapults, it looks ripe for the pickin'!
- Founded Ravenna. Begin producing Theatre for culture.
Turn 4 (1838)
- Toku throws a bunch of knights, war elephants, grenadiers, and catapults at my units surrounding Tokyo. I shouldn't have left my cavalry unstacked. All total, I suffered marginal collateral damage to my main stack and destroyed 2 catapult (one retreated), 1 war elephant, 1 grenadier, and 3 knights and lost 4 cavalry. (Building more cavalry, grumble, grumble ...)
- Destroy a longbowman at Nagoya. A longbowman and pikeman are left. They should be taken care of by the few units in that area.
Turn 5 (1840)
- Toku throws a bunch *more* knights, cats, grenadiers, horse archers (!) at me. I kill 7 catapults, a crossbowman, a horse archer, and a knight and lose 1 cavalry, 2 riflemen, and a grenadier. It looked a lot worse than it was.
- Still gathering (and healing) units around Tokyo. Not many *good* units coming from Toku, but there sure are a ton of them.
- Spread Hinduism in Ravenna for the culture help.
- I'm sending several workers up to help railroad into Japanese territory. Not much work to be done in the homeland.
- Settlers are produced (hurried a few) and sending them off to the islands.
- Spread Hinduism in Ning-Hsia and New Sarai (last of our cities sans Hinduism).
- Captured Nagoya. Very easily. 7 turns of unrest await us here. Start a Hindu missionary in Tenochtitlan to spread the joy here.
- Throw half injured modern troops against half injured medieval (or worse) troops:
YEEEEHAAAAAAH!
- I pile all units into Tokyo to rest up. Next stop: Kyoto!
