Hi all,
I found playing Railroads! on the Investor difficulty setting and a little too easy. I decided to jump straight to Robber Baron level and pretty much sailed through the American maps.
I cannot believe that Great Britain on Robber Baron level can be this difficult when compared to the other levels. It's starting to frustrate me now.
I'm using patch v1.1.
If I begin in Wrexham then naturally connecting Liverpool and Manchester is a piece of cake. All I need to worry about then is obtaining 70% of the stock in the company. I have come extremely close on a couple of occasions but usually end up still needing to purchase 10-30% stock!
I've tried so many strategies now like selling all my stock initially to give a much needed cash injection at the beginning, trying different numbers of AI players (you need to have at least one to achieve later objectives), streamling the amount of track that I buy i.e. using just enough so that multiple trains can use the same track without waiting too long. I've tried concentrating on the Arms industry to maximise profits.
I would like to know if anyone has successfully completed the first set of objectives on Great Britain at Robber Baron difficulty. If so, do they feel that they got lucky or did they spend stupendous amounts of time trying to beat it (just like I am now!)
