Has anyone with a DVD gotten the bug fix from Steam?

How is Steam supposed to apply the bug patch? I launch Steam and it offers me 6-10 things I could buy, 0 of which I care about, but it does not offer me the bug fix I saw advertised on civfanatics front page. Is there a status screen I can go to that shows what/when things were updated? Or do I have to pay for bug fixes now?

Steam is waiting until there's a great mod available that won't work with a patch... then - it will auto-download the patch you don't want just yet, rather than the one you need now.

That's how Steam rolls...

Steam installs any patches automatically. Often, you don't even notice it.

By magic. Or more seriously, less snarky: On connection, it automatically checks for bugfixes, unless you explicitly disable that function for a game - so you should get the patch pretty much directly after loading Steam.

You can turn these off, y'know...

Cheers, LT.

It doesn't ask you if you want the update.

While it is downloading an update and after that until you exit steam, the download shows up on the downloads page (click library, then downloads).

To see your version, go to the folder where you installed Civ V (normal Steam install: Steam\steamapps\common\sid meier's civilization v) , select the executable, right click, select properties, click details, the version should be listed. Current is 1.0.20.0.

If it hasn't updated, sometimes you have to restart Steam before it does it. Also, you can't be in offline mode and you can't have automatic updates disabled etc.
